I had noticed somewhere stating if you were in college or going to college for a specific major, you could try to shoot for an internship within Cedar Point. I'm going to Hocking at the end of the season for tourism. Any chance I could get in with Park Ops or something to try to get something like an internship? Who should I talk to. I'm in area 2 being a ride host for Power Tower if this helps.

The internship opportunity is sometimes misunderstood by non-students as an apprenticeship, or as an additional way to get a job at Cedar Point.
The reality is that it is a way to make your summer job fulfill a school requirement for hands-on training. The same way doctors have to work as interns during med school, many other degree programs have co-op or internship requirements, such as HR specialists, machinists, and police. This typically means that the student finds a job part way through their schooling, and then they sign up for internship at school using their new job as the basis. The job supervisor or manager needs to agree to the terms of the internship program, and they take part in training and evaluating the student to help them get a grade. The student also interacts with an instructor at school who provides assignments and may serve as a go-between with the supervisor.
Managers and supervisors who agree to this kind of arrangement are actually taking on more work to help with an employee's education, and their cooperation should not be taken for granted.
When you come back for the summer of 2014, you'll understand exactly what I'm talking about.
Do you think if I worked my butt off then mentioned how I want to work in tourism to a supervisor/manager I'd be able to work a little bit in other positions closer to the inside?
