Hey guys!
My name is Marcel, I'm 20 years old (I'm turning 21 in November this year) and I study English and French in Germany! Since I'm a big coaster fan and traveled the USA with TPR, I'm somewhat interested in working at the point next year! Can anyone give me some information about what I can expect from working there? Any recommendations, tips or advice? I heard good and bad things and I would like to hear from the past or present employees how (awesome) working at the point really is.
Thanks for you help!

Well it's great you want to work at Cedar Point! You'll have to do some work to figure out how you can get a visa to come work here in the U.S (I'm pretty sure there's a link to the info on the CP web page so check that out) and that's the hardest part. As an international employee, you'll be assigned a department (in your case, maybe rides) and if you get rides you'll be assigned a ride when you arrive as well.
Working here is so much fun, seriously. I've worked two seasons and they've literally been the best summers of my life. You meet the greatest people here and you make friends that'll last you a lifetime. Don't get me wrong, there are days where you'll just want to walk away and quit, but that happens anywhere. Just know that you'll probably have many more good days than bad days.
As far as housing goes, definitely try and get there early enough to live somewhere in Commons - Cedars is okay especially since it's so close, but I think they might be closing Cedars after this season so everyone will have to live at Commons anyway (at least if you're a guy).
Workdays are long - generally expect to be working anywhere from 55 to 65 hours per week with one day off. It's not necessarily difficult work but it can get repetitive and when it gets hot it sometimes gets miserable. Just power through it though and you'll be fine. Drink plenty of water haha. Also remember, since you've been to the park before, it doesn't really matter which ride you work (if you end up in rides) but your crew. Your crew makes or breaks your summer, so if you have a fantastic crew your summer will probably be amazing.
Hope this helped! Looking forward to seeing you at cp next summer!
Thank you very much for your response! Getting a visa would not be a problem, because the work&travel agency works for CP and they're arranging the visa.
Do you know how high chances are to get a bigger coaster or are those coasters reserved for the American season workers?
I just don't know what do. I may have the opportunity to go to West Coast. Decisions decisions! On the other hand, working 3 months in the States would be a good reference for my CV and university!
