He calls that "unconditional praise"! What has he been smoking?

"If you're standing in an uncomfortable position, that means you are in the right position because you are riding Mantis!" - Mantis ride op doing spiels on closing day.

This article is really written by someone who does not know how to look at a coaster... He thinks it´s ugly?? so be it, but do not judge a ride before riding it!!
I think this guy has some sort of bi-polar disorder. Everything is either incredibly wonderful or abysmally terrible. And all this based on selected photos of a ride whose theming isn't even finished yet? To him I say:

"Meh."

After a week of no power due to the wonderful storm here in Oakland County, I have returned to chat with "my friends"...

I think its simply jealousy that people hate Cedar Point, and isn't that too damn bad. Since it's beginning, the Park has built rides taller, faster, scarier, and I truly believe people at other parks, are simply jealous.

As for the ride promotion, I think it generated phenominal interest, much like Tomb Raider atT PKI last year.

I have to say, some of you get worked up about way too little.

Anyone can say anything, and thats the guys opinion, you all have no right to start calling him names. I think its even childish that some of you get ticked off and respond to his comments like some of you did, calling him "high" or "stupid" just because you dont agree with him...God Forbid someone doesn't like the ride, and says something against the "All Mighty CedarPoint."

If anything, YOU ALL are a bunch of suckers, because he got through exactly wanted to: His point, and to piss off a buch of Cedar Point fans who will take nothing other but praise for their park, and will accept no criticism.

My point to this post... Sometimes People are Harsh - So Deal With It.

Danimation is a full of tools and losers.

In other words does that make me a tool and a loser? I visit Danimation frequently, but lately their has been plenty of losers roaming the boards but I do recall a few losers roaming these boards lately too. Aw well, not to start an argument or anything I'm just bored and would like to point that out.

On another note, Sean O just doesn't love to bash Cedar Point. He loves to bash anything that any enthusiast would love. I remember one time he drew a picture of Airs layout, but it was just a circle with a square for a station. He's a good writer, but has a very big mouth. Don't let him get to you.

....you mean like you do over your precious, Magic Mountain?

everyone has the right to their opinion, but at LEAST make it after you have experienced it. isnt there an old adage that goes a little something like "dont judge a book by it's cover?" Hmmm....

"bite my grandma, 2003 style!"

Yea, Steelrider33...Apperently you do have something against CP. What Sean O wrote, Just makes him look like a total idiot. Judging TTD by some pictures, I had a chance to talk to him recently. He told me that he never even seen TTD in person, And as i know from many people that HAVE acctually seen it up close. It us just amazing.

SteelRider33 - Acctually, We do have the right to critisize him for what he wrote. Especially because he wrote somthing that is basically a REALLY stupid opinion. That is the only reason people critisize CP. Its because some people are Jealous. CP is the Best out of any other park. Some SF fanboys will find anything to bash CP about. O well its their loss.

Agreed. Sean has no premise to base his opinion on. He has not seen it up close, he has not ridden(?) it yet, and plus, he gave CP no credit for those pictures he used, so technically, he has nothing at all. On the other hand, we don't need to sit around and yell at other people about their opinions, it is something each of us has, and something each of us has to live with.

I bet he's just jelous that he doesn't have the best park in the world close to home. No one will ever be able to change my mind that Cedar Point isn't the best.

The fastest and tallest coaster ever built on the Planet!!

Well, I do agree with the him when he said that CP dropped the ball on advertisisng part. And about the Magnum's fog and stuff, but what he is DEAD wrong about is hes bashing about CP's capacity, and ability to get the most people through thte lines the fastest. We have all been to other parks, CP by FAR as the best capacity, and in my mind no park is even CLOSE to them in that regard.
The article was written just for this Sean guy to get some press so CP fans and coaster fans in general will talk about it. Everyone wants to fight the big kid on the block so they become popular, and that is what this article is all about.

He, unfortunatly, did bring up one point about some of the themeing that CP lets go after a couple of years, like the MF music and Magnum fog. It would be nice to see those things working properly again.

The best thing about Six Flags "Worlds of Adventure" is that Cedar Point is nearby!

Some people will never understand what makes Cedar Point special to a Cedar Point enthusiast. That's OK. I don't understand what makes Buffy The Vampire Slayer so special to a Buffy fanboy/fangirl ... and I don't need to. But if I wrote an article blasting the show, telling everyone how boring it was, I would be surprised if I didn't hear a whole lot of noise from the show's fans.

Same with any other park. For instance, what if I said the following things about Six Flags Magic Mountain:

"But, on the rare occasion that SFMM actually gets something right"

"Scream was a tepid, bland, boring and entirely uninteresting investment"

"Six Flags began by blowing every aspect of ride promotion ..."

If I posted an article with those quotes, I'd fully expect Six Flags fanboys (and there are many) to start "screaming". Do I have a right to my opinion? Yes. Do they have a right to give their opinion on my opinion? Yes. So what's the problem?

SteelRider...you're right. Look at all the buzz we've generated for Danimation. Negative buzz, yes, but all the while, buzz.

Just one less person in line.

That's Ridiculous™

Well, IMHO, I think TTD is going to be a major draw, regardless of ride length, duration, lack of elements. Every co-worker, friend, and relative I have showed the specs and media to, has been in nothing but awe and amazement at how crazy this ride is. It is the average park patron that makes up the majority of visitors by far of any park, and those are the ones that you build for.

Heck, I'm not a coaster enthusiast in in the sense that so many of you who post to this board and others are, but I know I am enthralled with this ride, and even happier that it's such a short drive away from Pontiac, Michgan. I've only been to a smattering of parks in my lifetime (Disney, a few defunct and current MA parks, Six Flags GA, Kings Island, and maybe a few others), and I think CP is the best I've been to overall for my enjoyment.

Just my $.02 and expecting change.

Well Apparently This Danimation Has lack of sight because cp ia awesome at Halloween. TTD Will somoke Six Flags Any Day.
