According to the article TTD is "a tepid, bland, boring and entirely uninteresting investment of 27 million dollars. " The author also throws quite a few insults towards the ride and Cedar Point itself.

"But, on the rare occasion that CP actually gets something right"
One of those "rare occasions" must have been Millennium Force, when the author praised the ride ranking it as his #1. Maybe he's a closet fanboy?
"It was a tepid, bland, boring and entirely uninteresting investment of 27 million dollars."
Wow - Sean O has more industry knowledge than Richard Kinzel! Perhaps Cedar Point would be a better place if only Sean O were in charge. His anger towards Cedar Point is blinding him.
"Cedar Point began by blowing every aspect of ride promotion ..."
Just the opposite. Their plan was brilliant. Never before has a park garnered so much attention for a new ride. The media coverage and exposure of the "mystery" provided an immeasurable amount of free publicity. And for months, it was by far the most popular topic among enthusiasts. It still is.
Even though he writes as if all of the world's enthusiasts agree with him, in the end, it's just one person's opinion. It's not like we're dealing with an industry expert or anything.
Cedar Point has an unequaled combination of thrills, history, service, and atmosphere. How can anyone not like that?

"The initial hope and interest in the entusiast [sic] community turned into disappointment, and in many cases, anger as Cedar Point ignored the public outcry about the LTHB design."
Isn't this what all you folks who frequent this TTD forum had been discussing for months before the announcement? Just because someone randomly complains on a website doesn't mean a design that was planned years in advance is going to be changed. (We don't hear anyone here whining now, do we? ^_^ )

Wait until CP goes after them for ripping off their images.
Anyway, the moron needs to read the freakin' balance sheet. Cedar Fair is kicking ass and taking names. It's the only thing I've invested in since I graduated from college that didn't roll-up, tank and die. What are we at now for cash distribution, 6%? 8% on investment?Walt's right. Some people just take shots because it's at the top.

There are a ton of CP haters out there, and he has always appeared to be one of them. His comments are personal, and, IMO, not very well presented. But hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
I'm sure there will be enough people who will find a 420 ft LTHB full-circuit ride to be more than "bland and boring". Being a drag racing participant and fan, I think the trains rock.
The end of the season numbers will tell if CP made a mistake or not.

Life is full of ups and down, you better make sure your safety restraint is locked and ENJOY the ride.
