Hey gang, just returned from another great Cedar Point visit! I wanted to say until midnight, but Natalie (my girlfriend...not Ride of Steel) was being a bi...anyway, she wanted to go, so we left early.
Some interesting things that I noticed:
1) Park was extremely crowded! I had never gone to the park on a Saturday in July, and what an experience it turned out to be. It was the busiest that I have ever seen it, blowing the October 2000 date that I went out of the water. But, the positive side was that there was Tons of eye candy, and you can never get enough of that! Hotties everywhere...(Natalie wasn't to pleased ;)
2) Our longest wait for the day was for Mantis and that was 1 3/4 hour. I suspect that this wait was so long, because they were only running two trains...but honestly don't know how much that affected the queue wait.
3) While waiting in line for Raptor (1 Hour), I noticed and heard a band that was set up there, (I think it's called Heat The Beat). The played Caribbean and Calypso music, and that was cool.
4) While at Johnny Rockets, the turned the music was up and five employees came out and did a little "Love Shack" dance. This was very fun to watch and entertaining as well. We saw this twice while eating.
5) Had the very last two seats on Millie Force. Wow! What a great experience that was!
6) Mean Streak, my personal favorite ride in the park, ran like a top like always. The more I ride this coaster, the more I love it. The Mean Streak is to me...like the Magnum XL-200 is to Dan ;)
7) Ate at the Midway Market for the first time! Loved it. Wont eat anywhere else from now on!
8)Biggest bummer of the day: Missing out on a chance to meet up with fellow GTTPer, CP Irvine. Sorry, Anne :( :(
9)Overall another great time at the Point. I love how friendly everyone is. From "higher-up" to the "sweepers", everyone treats you like royalty. I am also still amazed at how good CP is at the capacity issue! It blows my mind the way, they get all those people threw the queues as fast as they do! Can't wait for Millennium Mania, so I can meet up with some of you :)
Mikey

Great report sounds like you had a blast. I know Saturdays have been pretty packed especially up until about 8. Was going to go last night but I decided to hold off until today, out the door I go. Mean Streak is in good shape, it's nice to find another fan.

Yes, it's nice to find another Mean Streak fan! I think we are a dying breed ;)

The fact that they are running only two trains on Mantis has nothign to do with the wait. They discovered that with the setups and stacking issues they had, they are processing the same number of people using two trains as they were with three, and people are not waiting as long ON the trains.

Sorry to upset ya, Brian! I just meant that I would try and get some 2002 info out of her...if she had any. So far, I have not had any luck :)
mikey :)
Now now, what did I tell you about that in a previous thread too about giving out information? Besides, what could we possibly know :).......

Don't mean to sound kind of mark-ish, but the more I ride MF, the more I like it. I liked Magnum from the start, and never cared for MS

Hey The Mean Streak is not rough what are you talking about.I took my bro the 20th and we heard oh this will really hurt so on an so on.That Mean Streak is pretty smooth. I love the Mean Streak an Its my brothers new favorite ride.
Greg
We rode MS when we went. Because we were expecting a horrible rough ride, we were surprised at how smooth it was.
MS is definitely one of those coasters with serious personality. I've ridden it, gotten off, and then vowed to start going to a chiropractor as soon as I get home on some visits. Others I've gotten off, scratched my head, and wondered if it was my imagination or did I just have fun? Moral of this story...never eat baked beans before a 12 hour plane trip. Oh, and I guess never judge by just one ride fits too.
