I was slightly disappointed on opening weekend, but this past weekend there were more spigots shooting water, and I liked it a lot better. As for any "situations" in the summer, I doubt it will be too much of an issue. If someone wants to get wet they can just walk right through and that should do a pretty good job.

That's what I did when it was kind of warmish this weekend. I was able to control exactly how wet I got. A great addition to the park, if for that reason alone.

I love that thing! it looks pretty cool at night. It would be cool if they had music to go along with the fountains.
Actually, they do. There are speakers surrounding the fountain, and if you listen closely you can tell that the fountain actually has a different soundtrack from the rest of the main midway.
Unfortunately, when you are standing near the fountain, you can easily hear the fountain soundtrack, the main midway soundtrack, the Johnny Rocket's soundtrack, and when the ride is running, the Cedar Downs soundtrack, all from the same spot on the midway, so I can understand why you might have missed it. :)

However, I do miss the old retro fountain a bit. It would be nice to see it make an appearance somewhere else in the park.
It will be reappearing, just not at CP...

I think they need to take about half of the benches and pull them out another 8' or so from the fountain. As it is now, the benches form almost a full enclosure around the fountain, and it doesn't invite people to come inside. In fact, all the people I saw gathered around the fountain were sitting facing *away from* the fountain. What it looked like to me was that if the spaces between the benches were larger, or if half the benches were pulled out to a second ring outboard of the ones surrounding the fountain, that would open the fountain up a bit...

I haven't been there to see it yet, but that was my initial impression too when I saw the photos.

Interesting to hear. Mi Adventure does not have a fountain that I am aware of... Coincidence?
On a side note, I think MI Adventure would do well with a fountain like what CP has. No one is too worried about getting wet with the water park and all.
Edit: Fixed formatting
Thanks Rideman! I probaly missed it because of hearing "Car Wash" at johnny rockets!:)

It wont be a Cedar Fair park that it goes to.
You know, it is kind of ironic, what kind of fountain the old ball fountain will be replacing.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Ok, I guess its time to let the cat out of the bag.
Here and here are a few photos of the old Midway Fountain at its new home. For those of you who want to see it in person, you will have to travel to the dirty south to Alabama Adventure.
The park is still fine tuning the fountain. That is why it looks a little crazy with the water shooting out in different directions. But once its 100% done, I'll see if I can get some more pictures.
Oddly enough, that was *almost* a Cedar Fair park, but the deal fell through...!

Very true. And from what I have been told, you could say it was a Cedar Fair park for about a day:)
Looks pretty awesome, and should look even better after it gets tuned in. It is a bit odd seeing a palm tree behind that thing though. :)
Glad to see it finally up and running. It was really cool and kind of odd to see it sitting in pieces back by the offices when I was down there.
I think you could still say its at least half a Cedar Fair park and half Six Flags. ;)
