Just because attendance is up doesn't mean that the company isn't going downhill. C'mon, the Lions had 6 straight years of sell-outs and they were TERRIBLE from top to bottom.

But it's not sustainable if you disregard your people. I don't think you can fully appreciate how low the morale is with a lot of the full-time people. You hope to get into a company like this with the intention of going somewhere in it, because there aren't many players in the industry. What message does it send when you get your job because of dad?

Maybe the effects are not obvious now, but I know a great many people have fled the company because they weren't able to innovate and take ownership in a business they cared so much about. This was especially true in the Paramount acquisition. What people they didn't can, the best have left. I can think of two PR all-stars that split, and people know who they are.

What else are we supposed to do with the cash we find? I cant stop everything I'm doing, like checking a train, to turn in money to the police. I can do that later on break or call security when I have time to pick it up. Are you insinuating that I keep the money as soon as it enters my pocket?

Of course. You're supposed to immediately stop whatever you're doing (even checking lapbars) and make sure that the money gets to who it belongs to or security without it ever going in your pocket. Didn't you learn anything this summer?

Speaking of the Lions, I was at the game last Sunday which they were up 17-0 and they ended up losing, but anyways the prices were outrageous! $4.50 for a bottled water. And I thought CP's were bad.

I paid $4.50 for bottled water (and $5 for a small popcorn) at the American Airlines Arena in Miami last weekend. $19.50 for one chicken fingers meal and a soda at the Bank Atlantic Center in Ft Lauderdale the day before.

Oh, and at dinner last weekend I paid $24 for a bottle of wine (which I could get for $8 at the grocery store...I've since learned.)

Yes, we all get bent over chairs on a pretty regular basis.

John watched me waste a lot of money at Ford Field. I left that place over $20 lighter, and I only had 2 20oz bottles of diet pepsi, a pretzel and an ice cream sandwich.

I just generally feel awful for people that work for CF and have continued to do so for a long time in hopes of one day getting rewarded in title and in the wallet for their years of slave labor. The truth is a great many of them have a great love for the parks and the industry and really don't want to move to another company or industry, but they're continually asked to do more with less (people and budgets), get paid poorly, and then have to sit there and watch BS like this happen. It's no wonder most positions are revolving doors.

That senile old crook needs to retire yesterday. I don't know if the guy waiting in the wings is any better, but he can't be any worse.

Isn't nepotism a common practice in Sandusky? Tommy Boy anyone?

I agree. I know when I talk to the employees, most of them are there for the love of the parks! I know I worked part of a summer at Geauga Lake. The pay was not great, but I enjoyed being there! I enjoy being there to ride the rides!
