...correct me if im wrong, OTSR arent needed on SOME coasters with inversions.
I can't think of any ride with inversions that keeps you more secure due to the OTSR. Even if you're trapped in an inversion, a well-designed lap bar will keep you pinned in the seat. Examples include Dragster or Flight of Fear.

I know the OTSR are more accommodating to riders of larger sizes, but another reason is the fact that Intamin's t-bar style lapbars that are on Xcelerator, MF, and TTD have been labeled as unsafe following the accident on Superman: Ride of Steel a few years back.
That's not true at all. Not only are the restraints on MF, Dragster and Superman not the same, but the accident was attributed to ride operator failure and seatbelts not lengthened to spec, not any inherent flaw in the design.

From what I have been told by a few people was that Ka had the OTSR because of the second hill and to keep riders in place better due to the airtime. IDK if this is true or not. As for the OTSR being more accomodating than the lap bars for larger people, I agree. Having ridden MF,TTD, SR, and KK I felt like I definitely had more room in KK and SR than MF and TTD.
I have rode storm runner. The ride does have seat belts that
connect to the otsr restraints. Similar to the arrangement like
the raptor and mantis.

When I said labeled, I meant that people have labeled them as unsafe. When I say people I mean people who watch the crazy news stories that don't ever get the facts right.

There was an accident on one of the intamin rides with a T-bar such as those found on MF and TTD. Intamin has now stopped production of rocket coasters with T-bars, and has now made every one since the accident with the OTSR. I don't know about any of their other types of coasters, since they haven't made any other megas since, however, ElToro uses and U bar. The S:ROS rides have been retrofitted with A new "M" bar. A u bar is a bar such as those on Magnum. All that happened to the S:ROS's was that a bar was added to each side of the bar, making it, instead of a T bar or U bar, an "M" bar.
Also, I beleive that Xcelerator had those green light thingys placed on the bars to make sure they are safe and tight. I don't think we should have any problem with the T-bars since we have the amazing operating staff at CP.

For some reason I can't picture U bars on Magnum.
There is no proof of Intamin refusing to put T-bars on rockets, they just haven't built one with T-bars since TTD. They also put inversions on most of the newer rockets which require OTSR.
Xcelerator was only modified because of California's policies. Like Jeff said, the accident on S:ROS had nothing to do with the restraint.

I'm assuming you meant that there hasn't been and Accelerator Coaster built with T-bars since Dragster, as there certainly have been Accelerator Coasters built since then. 9 of them to be exact.
It seems quite a few of them have had inversions, but I'm wondering why the OTSRs on the ones that don't? Maybe it has something to do with the rigid seatbacks? - Just thinking outside the "box" on that one.
