Hey guys,
Im gonna be moving from Australia soon to work at Cedar Point and was wondering if the park covers any sort of minor medical insurance for employees?
I'm really doubting they do, but since the time is near when I'm about to leave, I was considering taking out medical insurance ...
cos insurance costs in the states are ridiculous ...
I doubt the park would do this, but was hoping on the off chance they would lol. Anybody know if they do or dont?
Also, with the employee cafeteria, is that open all the time?
For instance if I was to have an open shift, would it be open early in the morning for me to get breakfast from there? Same thing for night time, if I was working a close shift, would it be open late enough to get food from there? Was just wondering about this ....
Because I like my food haha :)
Anyways, I'm really looking forward to starting work at the park ...
And I can't wait to live at Cedar Point all the time :D

They don't have insurance plans, but there's an employee clinic that you can go to without insurance that is pretty much a doctors office with the ability to write prescriptions.
The employee caf is open 2 hours before open and I think 1 hour before close, but since you'll be at magnum ther is the employee eatery thats behind one of the guest food places that stays open until the park closes. If you live off point there is also a subway that stays open late so people can get food there after work

The last couple of years they have actually offered a medical insurance plan for seasonal employees. Granted, I have no idea if they'll be offering it again this year, but it has been an option. I don't remember much about the details, just that they had two plans you could pick from- a higher deductible/lower premium plan and a lower deductible/higher premium plan. You might try calling/emailing someone in HR and see if they'll give you the details.
But you are right, insurance in the US is ridiculous.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

I assume you mean the stockade? The stockade is located in Frontier Town right by the rail road crossing by Gemini. And they close an hour before the park does also.
There are a few good places in Sandusky that stay open late.
Mona Pizza in Downtown Sandusky
Steak and Shake on 250
Diana's on 250
and of course the multitude of McDonalds, Taco Bell, Wendy's, ect.
And last year Dairy Queen stayed open an hour after the park closed but they also get pretty busy with guests leaving. And of course if you work a closing shift don't expect to get out within an hour, more likely 2 to 3 hours depending on where you work at.
