Information about Gold Dorms?

Hey! This is my first summer at CP, and I haven't really heard anything about the Gold Dorms. I was wondering if anyone could give me their opinions on it. Thanks :)

I have not seen the Gold Dorms but I heard they were not very clean and they are the "quiet dorms" compared to the common dorms.

Gold Dorms usually opens in June, and it houses all females. It's relatively quiet, right next to Wardrobe (where you get uniforms), and very close to the caf too. There are a lot of international girls that stay here, as they usually process in around the first and second weeks in June.

I'm currently in the commons dorms and want to transfer to gold dorms once they open. How do I go about that?

Just go to the housing desk at Commons and tell them you want to move. They'll let you know what to do.

Golds is the simplest of simple...you get 4 walls, a bed, a dresser and a window. There is no AC or cable. The one good thing is that you are right there on point, you do not need to worry about parking or traffic going to and from work. I know during my time at CP I loved staying at Cedars.

Can the window in Golds dorms be opened to let in fresh air; and is there a screen in the window?

You can open the window...most people put in window fans to keep cool in the warm days.

I process in on May 16th and will be staying in Commons. I want to move to Golds when they open in June.

Does anyone know what dates you can start signing up for Golds, so that you make sure you get a room there when they open? My roommate and I both want to move there together, and we're both unclear on how this works.

She says they fill up fast and is worried that we might not be able to transfer when June comes. It's my first year, and I have no idea either. Any info is greatly welcomed and most appreciated. Thank-you.

Just keep asking them the exact day and time they are going to start moving people in and the day they do make sure to take the morning off and be there bright and early to transfer....I am pretty sure everything is first come first serve.

Golds dorms opened up Monday 5/22.
