Infield Space

Looking at the Power Tower cam shot, there is a hell of alot of space in that infield. Besides the station and queue, any one have an idea of what else could go in there?

I think they are going to keep it empty. With the trains being low to the ground and going by at very fast speeds I think they would't keep anyone inside the oval. They will probably just landscape the inside of it.

I hope they put landscape in the center. They had to take out alot of trees to put this thing in...but, on the other hand, I would like to see the queue or midway go through there!

Maybe they could add some jumping fountains in there. I'd like it if they replaced the trees they took out, though.

I agree that should be the thing to do, but where will the queue be then?

I agree it should be landscaped! But it would be neat to have the que lines in the lush landscaping. Put in some big trees etc... then it will keep us all cool on those hot summer days!
The queue could be across from Power Tower where the lagoon is filled but where it doesn't appear that the ride will make it that far. I guess it could be interesting with Iron Dragon right there flying past you as you wait in line, but that location is kind of far away from the ride, which, historically, hasn't really been done by CP (think about the queues of all the coasters - they are all pretty much "up close" to the ride). Of course, history doesn't dictate everything... whatever happened to "CP only gets a major new ride every other year"?

I think it would very cool if they put some big, strong trees in there (I say big and strong so they don't blow over by the "wind"). It would definately be good to replace the trees, and then finally Cedar Point gets a forest again! Look at this thumbnail pic right here:

(It's the last one on the second row) Compare that to what it looks like now. (A little different, huh?) :)

The que could also be placed inside the track... but b/w the station and the last part of the brakes. By then the rains won't be speeding by too fast. I hope, as well, that they replace the trees they have removed.

I'm not so sure. The oval is pretty big---bigger than Xcelerator's. The queue there winds between the top hat and the oval mid-point, with the ramp to the station relatively near and parallel to the launch track. Seems to me that even with #16's higher speeds, the queue could go in there.

I will be surprised if the que is not in the center field area - the area is very big and perfect eye candy for waiting passengers.

Since the comparison will come up sooner or later, Xcelerator's queue starts under the tower, contains a few small switchbacks, and runs to the station directly next to the launch. I'll think we'll see the same thing in Sandusky.

I think it'd be sweet to put the midway in between the brake and launch, but that probably won't happen considering the noise, or the fact that they'd have to fence the track off from the sidewalk. It would have been cool. I'm guessing que.

I'm sure they will do something with that space because that would would look really horrible if they did nothing with it

I like my idea of putting trees there. Okay, fine, it's not just my idea. But then again, look at how many people agree with me?!?!
I totally agree with you I personally would love to see the trees in that area. But I would also like to see cedar point to do something with the midway because its a tight enough as is but, with the new ride in that area it will be rather hard to move through that area to get to magnum.

I'm pretty sure that they are working on the cable power house close to the tower, so I doubt we will see a midway relocation between the track infield.

Where else could u put a 4 hour plus line besides in the center of the oval? That would make it similar to MF. People standing in line as trains screem by at over 100 mph, can't beat that!

Wicked Twister is a great ride! Just because it looks simple soesn't mean it sucks! I wouldn't mind having it in my back yard!

They should make it a pond and have jetski shows in it
That would be pretty cool, but they would have to close the coaster because just imagine the NOISE!!
