In the park without pockets.

I rent a car for trips. First thing after I pick up the car, my keychain goes in the luggage. While I'm an over-packer on a trip (one of my rules: one pair of shoes per day, plus one extra pair), I'm a pocket minimalist. The rental car key. My license, debit and one credit card.

I am a little torn about what to bring sometimes too. I am actually leaving tomorrow for Barcelona and France and made sure to add a whole day to my partners and I Spain portion just so we can visit "Portaventura" theme park. It will actually also be my first ever ride on a B&M Hyper and am very stoked. I will have a point and shoot digital camera plus my phone. If it is warm enough then cargo shorts with zipper pockets will be perfect. Most likely, I will need a light jacket with zipper pockets. I hate to be burdened with stuff but like Noggin I will only have our rental car key with me. Cant wait!

I shove money down my boots and into my socks (if it's cold enough to wear boots)

I don't usually wear pocket shorts that have super large pocket space to store large items, but a small purse that's small enough to take on rides that dont have loose article bins, that would work. My friend carries a zipper iphone case for her phone and also to stash our money and park passes. We barely carry anything with us, except the stuff we need. Some people bring their whole house with them to the park and it's ridiculous what some girls I see have with them.

I like the safety pin car key idea...which would be mostly handy at soak city where I try to bring nothing but a towel and the shoes that I am wearing inside.

Haven't lost one yet, so it seems to be working!

Women's cargo shorts are usually worthless to carry anything in. I bought a pair of men's cargo shorts with large pockets and then sewed velcro into one of them to keep everything small and valuable safe there. The other I put my Gatorade bottle in. When the weather gets cooler I have a denim jacket with super deep inside pockets. Back when I had a car with keyless entry I used to lock the keys in the trunk.

I'm not a woman... But this seems massively convenient...

I was cutting through Macy's in the local mall and noticed a display of womens cargo pants/shorts. Having read this thread I stopped and looked. While very fashionable, the actual "cargo" space was ridiculously small. No real functionality. I think if I were female I'd be wearing mens cargo pants that actually can hold things.

Yeah, after looking at several stores, I'm just gonna end up with some men's cargo shorts if I can find them small enough, and short enough not to look like goofy capris, since I'm very much on the short side. A lot of the women's ones even have false pockets that are just flaps sewn shut, which doesn't do anyone any good. And as for the pocket bra thing, as someone who has worked as a cashier, there's no worse feeling that having to handle money or a card that came out of a sweaty women's bra. I did end up getting a phone case that is also a hard shell wallet, so that should help at least a little bit.

Is that a "thing"? Do women seriously carry stuff around in their bras?

To me, the idea seemed absurd because of "comfort" alone. Like... Wouldn't having your credit cards and cell phone rubbing against your chest all day get really old after a point?

Imagine riding Raptor and hitting the brake run at the end. I could just picture an iPhone shaped bruise happening...

Anyway, sorry if anyone took offense. It was way funnier to me at 2AM when I posted it than it is at 1:45PM after a good night's sleep. :)

Seems to me it would be uncomfortable.

That said, my mother, a Fascination enthusiast (she'd spend pretty much the whole day playing Fascination -- "...it's like bingo, with lights!"), would tuck a spare roll of quarters into her bra before we'd go in the park.

I've also worked as a cashier, years ago. Post-jog jogger wanted to pay for his newspaper with a dollar that he'd removed from the front of his underwear. He got a free paper that day.

The bra was usually used as storage for "mad money", the extra cash a woman would take along in case a date went bad and she needed to fend for herself financially. The handbag was used for cosmetics, drivers license, tissues, her key, cigarettes, stuff like that, and they were most often a lot smaller than the huge carry-all bags we see today.
Women still use the bra as a security feature, to discreetly put important or valuable things they don't want to lose or have taken. This Pocket Bra seems to be a solution for gals that don't want to be encumbered by a purse. The website mentions sports, bike riding, traveling, night clubbing, and other uses. It's an ad, certainly, but it's full of endorsements and references. The pockets are in the cups on the sides, too. They say it's secure, convenient, invisible, and comfortable.

I can't speak to the comfort of it, or what she needs to do to retrieve items discreetly- thats the part that seems awkward to me. But yes, it's a thing.

I've noticed that shorts come in two styles these days. Long, for men, and short (or extremely short) for women. And you can bet those women's shorts are designed for fashion, not functionability. It's why there's small or fake pockets, they were never intended to be used because after all, girls carry huge purses.

One thing for sure, the designers of women's apparel aren't thinking of their visits to amusement parks. And from what I've noticed, most women visiting parks aren't thinking about it either.

Um... So what if the date went "well"...? I mean... Wouldn't it be awkward when stuff started "falling out"?
