In need of a paint job already?

I was at the park last Sunday, and I noticed that the paint is really starting to thin.

Does anyone else think so?

I noticed a little rust (at least it looks like it) on the track where the que line passes next to the track.

I think you are right it is starting to get a bleached out appearance... but hey its STILL an AWESOME ride.

I have never really noticed the paint that much.

Blue is one of the fastest colors to fade. But still, Millie looks better than some of the other coasters in the park ;).

Funny, because I remember on a construction tour that someone from the park said the ride wouldn't fade like Mantis did. It's already there!

Speaking of that, it looks like Mantis did get a fresh coat recently.

Perhaps MF will get one next spring

I noticed fading in late 2001 or at least those horrible patchy spots around the bolts. The patched up spots don't even match the original color and does anyone know what those are from? I think maybe it is when they torque (sp) the bolts? I don't have much knowledge of that subject but, I know they do something with the bolts and the patchy spots are only around the bolts. Also, it was very bright and shiny opening year. I thought the blue that they used was a very sharp looking color but now it is kind of dull but, still tolerable.

It seems to be really bad just around the queue, most likely from the sun fading it. It's not that bad in other spots of the ride but still in a few years should get a new coat of paint.

I've heard several years of 'Mantis is getting a paintjob this offseason.' I don't want to hear 'Millennium Force is getting a paintjob' for the next 5 years.

Mantis is one heck of a job to paint, Millennium Force is just rediculous.

The track is fading a little bit but it's not that bad.I thought I heard a couple of years ago that It will be be repainted in 0'5.I think magnum needs it worse though.

Magnum will get a new paint job wayyy before MF.

I really don't notice MF's dullness until I'm in the queue, it doesn't look bad at all from most points in the park, but that's probably just because you can't get close enough to notice it anywhere else. I can't imagine painting that thing...that'd be one crazy job.

Yes, Mantis, Raptor and of course TTD are three roller coasters that have recieved a fresh paint job for this 2003 season. They all look great and making it look brand new gives me a better ride experience for some reason.

Is Maggie suppose to look orange? I wasn't there opening day but I wish they would do something to that ride visually. I only noticed the paint thinning on Millenium Force after looking at Mantis while I waitng for Millenium Force. But they should wait at least two more years before they pay millions to repaint it. It's not that bad.

About a year or two ago, I saw a picture of Raptor getting painted in the newspaper. MF needs a paint job soon, but not this year.

Where would we be without CP?:)

Really the only area of MF that needs paint is around the queue. Since much of the ride is on the island or 100+ feet in the air, you can't see it all too well.

To be completely honest, I think they should just paint the track around the queue and save a bit of cash ;)
