I have always thought that for the rides 20th aniverstary they could add some new elements. I for one think that some new inversions a bigger lift hill and a longer track could improve this ride and increase ridership once again to peak levels.. I am hoping that this thread will both serve as a question anwsered and maybe get into some of the tecnical diffuculties of improving a roller coaster already 20 years old... Let me know what you think...

How do you improve perfection?
Even God couldn't do that when he tried creating woman. ;)
Jugga, Jugga, Jugga...I sincerly hope that you meant that when God Created Women he did achieve Perfection?!
Oh And I thought the Raptor was only 10 years old?
If It wasn't for fun, Life would be all work. Now who wants that????

Im not sure youve thought this through.Even half way.
Increasing the size of the lift hill?
OK...lets take that alone. That alone would require essentially dismantling the entire ride, not to mention the queues, the station, the pavement nearby on the midway, etc.
But isn't that what they do for all new rides a ton of demo either that or add another lift somewhere... Just do something to make it better.. And yes it is a quite perfect ride I am not saying that it is'nt but it could even be better if you just use your imagination a little bit...

Only after changing the requirements and lowering the standards in his testing procedures. ;)

It would be easier and probably more cost efficient to just build a whole new B&M invert. You can’t do what you want to do to Raptor, especially because of its location at the park. Nothing is wrong with Raptor and I don’t see it losing its draw by the time its 20 years old. Nothing more needs to be discussed about this.
Why what did i do ?? :(
Just because I challange someone or somebody to think outside the box does not deserve a slap...
I know that it would proabbly never happen and is proabbly not even feasiable to think such things but i had a serious question and wanted to know if something like this could ever happen or ever be done...
Sorry for the rebuttal I just like to think outside the box and when it seems like all conversation around here resounds around the new coaster for 2007 and the belts on milli I am trying to break the mold and discuss things that have not been discussed before and I get my hand slapped.....
Does not make sense to me...
hmm.. Oh well.. this has just been on my mind for a long time and I guess that the Cedar Point fanatics have no intrest in improving a great ride so mods if you wish too you may close this I guess i might start a new thread which will be if there was to be a new inverted coaster at cedar point what type of ride would you want it to be and who would you want it to be devloped by....
I doubt that Cedar Fair would spend the money on a relatively(sp) new Ride. It would be like in 2010 if they decided to renovate their best Roller Coaster The Millennium according to "Amusement Today"! *** Edited 4/3/2006 3:56:02 PM UTC by Sam&Jennifersmom***
