I would suggest you enjoy your boredom while you can! Once the park opens and the season gets into full swing, you'll be doing nothing but running around.
Where are you staying? Why don't you walk around your building and see if you can run into any other newbies (well anyone for that matter) and strike up a conversation? Do you have roommates yet? See what they're going to be doing and see if you can join.
Tomorrow you'll be meeting some co-workers, so you can talk to them and see what they do after work, and perhaps hang out with them. The most fun I've ever had was just hanging out in people's apartments.
Don't worry. Before you know it you will meet plenty of people and not be lacking for recreation...have fun :-)
I suggest you get to know the people you are working with real well. After hours, go get something to eat with them, hang out after work, or go to a movie together.
I'm not sure about how close hotel teams are, but in my experiences, ride crews who hang out after work early in the season have time to "gel," and by the time peak season hits and you all get along very well.

I'v determined that it's boring right now due to the fact that it hasn't stopped raining (or snowing) and noone is going outside... But I start work tomarrow, so no more nothing to do for me...
Oh, and Kevin... Why cant I post on this site while employed here? are they going to fire me for saying I'm bored?
For some reason people seem to think that by posting here while you are employed makes you a marked target for termination. I've posted here the past two summers while working there and nothing has come of it. As long as you don't post anything that the general public can't see/know about themselves then you should be fine.
When there are actual real, reliable rumors (contradictory, I know) that start surfacing about a new coaster coming to the park I suspect that the park will start cracking down on what employees are allowed to say--to guests or online. I think that's what the park did when they built the fence that surrounded Dragster's tower footers.

You seem to be doing alot of posting and you're still existing as a CP employee...Even moving up in the ranks!
I haven't processed in yet however. Anyway, I wasn't speaking about the "I'm here and bored" post. It was for future reference. *** Edited 4/25/2005 3:17:26 AM UTC by Kevin Dudley***

Basically, as long as you watch what you say and you don't go spreading rumors or letting people know about "confidental" items going on in the park, you'll be fine. For example, you're working in the hotel, if you happen to get a big name guest in there, you don't want to be like "OMG! GUESS WHO IS STAYING HERE!" But yeah things like "I'm here and I'm bored" are okay. :)
