I'm a Newbie, excited but a little apprehensive I have no idea what to expect so anything that you feel i need to know feel free to share it with me
I have a few questions but most have already been answered by previous people but here goes
Does a shuttle bus pick you up from the airport when you arrive?
What happens if your flight comes in AFTER 5pm, and the processing building is closed, do we have to pay for a hotel for the night or do they let you stay in housing? (that confuses me because my flight is coming in to ohio around 7pm)
If your buying a mini fridge is it better to buy one when you get there or before you leave home?
Oh i was confused on the housing everyones answers werent making sense, wats the difference beetween the Golds, common dorms/apartments, bayside apartments?
Because I am coming May 30, how will i be housed and any recommendations on which place to pick, I'm all confused there.
Generally speaking how much does the cafeteria food cost, so I can know how much money to bring to last me 21 days
I'm going to be working in Admissions and was wondering how that is
Oh last one, the website said something about taking trips to various places, what places have you guys gone to in the past and did you like it.
One of the best things you can do is to read the other topics in the Employee Lounge. A lot of your questions have already been discussed in other topics.
To answer a few of your questions though-
I'm pretty sure there's no shuttle from the airport. I've heard in the past of there being shuttles from the Greyhound and Amtrak stations, but not the airport.
If you arrive after HR closes, they'll let you into housing that night. Just be prepared with your contract papers.
Admissions isn't hard at all. Decent hours and fairly laid back.
Past ESD (Employee Services Department) trips that I can think of have included things like Kennywood and King's Island, Niagara Falls, trips to Outlet Malls, New York City, and Washington DC to name a few.

Actually that has changed. I askked Debra during my interview cuz i was planning to do it this year, and you are not allowed to do that anymore. You will have to get a hotel. Sorry. I know that sucks.
^ So ya i did not know this cause i was also planning on coming the night before to make it easier. Oh well.
^^^Toni21 to answer you questions:
First, there is not a shuttle bus to and from any airport, train station, etc...If i am wrong someone should correct me but i am 99% sure on that.
I would defiantly buy a fridge in Sandusky if you don't already have one because it is just easier than bringing it. There is a meijer, walmart or pretty much any other store you would want. CP does not sell them if that is what you were asking.
As far as housing goes there are dorms both on the CP peninsula and off. Cedars/Golds are located on Cedar Point and Commons dorms are located less than 5 min from the park. Also commons have apartments, although these typically have 16 people in each to my knowledge. The last choice are bayside apartments which are located right next to commons, but these are typically filled long before you are processing in(again to my knowledge). As far as the difference between housing on cp versus off is that Commons dorms all have air conditioning in each room and they cost a little bit more, but not much. Also there is a bus that leaves about every 15 minutes to CP from Commons if you are concerned about that.
I highly recomend that you find some roommates now either on here or on the facebook group Cedar Point Employees 2010. Your roommates should be able to reserve a spot for you just by putting your name down. Now if you go in blind you will get put in wherever is available.
You can usually get a meal for around $5(maybe a little more or less) so bring enough for 21 days. I do not remember how much i brought last season but having a debit card helps a lot.
As far as trips go i know that CP has trips to some places, although i do not know where or how much. Usually you will end up going to Kings Island at least once with friends.
Hope this helps clear some things up! As far as admissions goes i have no idea. Hopefully someone can answer those questions for you.

That's a pretty stupid change in policy when they have so many employees coming from long distances relying on train/plane/bus schedules.
I agree. I guess people were taking advantage of that and just staying with friends and whatever when they weren't actually employees.
Thanks for all the information, and yea that does suck, because I'm coming in from California and is gonna have to figure out what to do about that now. But thanks if there anything else that I need to know feel free to tell me
thanks for a lot of these answers, they helped me too =]
