If you had to save ONE ride from being demolished what woul it be.

Gemini has some pretty good airtime. Especially if it is the blue train, and the ride is trimless. I think front seat is the best for getting air time on Gemini.

Magnum. Maybe not the whole ride but as long as the 3rd hill is remembered, then life is good.

Millenium Force is the greatest coaster I have ever been on...easy decision.

Unless I'm really missing something, the trims have nothing to do with airtime on Gemini. They do make the final helix a bit more fun when they are off, but that is hardly airtime.

I have found when the trims are off, the ride is a bit faster and because of that I feel that I get better air time over the bunny hops at the end. Maybe it was the difference of riding red train to blue train. But when we rode red train, the ride was not trimless and we didn't get much air time. When we rode blue train, it was trimless and we got A LOT of air time.

Gemini is the only ride I can tell the difference between the trims being off and on. I can sort of tell on Magnum. But I know for sure, when I am whipped through Gemini's helix extra fast.

Your physics say that the trims being off had nothing to do with air time, but my body begs to differ. ;)

I was at the park Yesterday for Maverick Ride Night (but that is a separate topic) and took a few rides on Gemini. During the morning they only had the red side going. The trims were off, and as stated above we seemed to get more air time on the bunny hops then we did in the afternoon with the trims on.
OH P.S.
Maverick is even better at night!
All i can say is WOW!

Jesz - I was wrong. I was thinking there were only the trims leading into the helix (which would have no effect on the bunnyhops) but after watching the on-ride, I realized there are also trims on the final turn around.

Yeah, I can see how having them off does affect the airtime through that section.

That is a tough choice for me! I have so many that I would be upset if they destroyed. I would have to say my first choice is Maverick followed very close would be Raptor!

Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs

I have seen a lot of coasters that I love destroyed in my day. Euclid Beach, Idora, etc. If I could have saved them I would but without money to back up a save the coaster campaign no one will listen. While I applaud people for trying, I am curious as to how one would think they might go about saving a coaster from demolition.

I bet incessant bitching and making up nonsense conspiracy theories would work well.

Oh wait...

Donning a tin-foil hat and starting an online "petition" combined with constant complaining about the shadiness of the park's management should work.

If not, lots of money should work.

Incessant bitching, conspiracy theories, petitions, constant complaining.... Didn’t someone already try that?

Raptor hands down, but millie is right there to. I also would always fight to save the park too.

I WILL ALWAYS KICK THE SKY.

Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad. Long and rich history at Cedar Point and typically gives the most rides each year. I am very partial to the railroad since I was a fireman in '82 and Engineer in '83.

Bill Abele

How would you people feel if the actually took your park away without notice? I know, you would be ok with it and never say a word about it. Some of you people crack me up! Try putting yourselves in the shoes of the people that lost their park, myself included. I can't believe some of you believe everything that is told to you. I'm not going to say another word about this and go on a flame war with you people, but I will continue to post on here because I also love CP.

I completely understand people being upset for their park being taken away. But I read a lot of the threads over at GLT. The things that were said about Point Buzz and Cedar Fair were rediculous and uncalled for.

Don't worry, no one is going to pick up on your flame war. Just go back to GLT and talk some more stuff about us over there.

I would schlepp myself all the way to Russia, find my way to Beoland and return with the Jumbo Jet... Contact Wieland Schwarzkopf have it refurbished and painted original color.. and return it to it's rightful owner Cedar Point... Then it would be the found coaster... then I awoke from a restful nights sleep... Let's Ride!

If I were choosing to save just one ride my first impulse would be to say Blue Streak. But, then again, Bill Abele makes a strong case for CP&LERR, given it's value and history. It's a priceless, irreplaceable collection of locomotives. Yea, I think that would have to be it. Sorry, thrillseekers.
