Ideas for on-ride pictures

I just lost a lot of respect for some people. To do what they said they did is one thing. To encourage others to do the same, is another.

Not cool.

Just wondering, how do you do stuff like this? Do you have to sneak the book on or something? I remember my friend and I tried to take a fake Gameboy on Magnum once and the ride op said we had to leave it with our bookbags at the station.

I have to wonder about this one. We generally don't let anything stay in the station at Magnum. There are a few exceptions like canes and umbrellas, but bookbags go with you.

Hey, don't get upset with me...its common sense. You want to bring something with you on a ride, then you obviously have to do it without letting an op see you. Did I ever say that I've done it before? No. Did I ever say that I condone or encourage such acts? No.

However, I see no difference safety-wise between this and the ops actually telling guests to put their hats in their shirts on MF.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

I was thinking about taking the shirt idea to the next level and switch shirts with the guy next to me... making it look like we switched seats :)
Might I remind everyone that you're looking at an approx. 15 second ride here, folks. And, quite an intense 15 seconds at that.

If you think you've got time to change clothes while you're in the train, more power to you. Maybe it's just me, but I plan on just enjoying the ride.

Putting stuff in your shirt does not break the rules. That is securing your lose articles. A ride op once suggested that I put my glasses in my shirt one day when I did not have my contacts. Most ride ops will not hassel you if you look like you got whatever secure.

True, but a pop can or book is not an item that they will tell you to put down your shirt. It might not hurt that bad to get hit by a hat but if a pop can hits you in the face at 67 mph, thats another story. Once while coming back from lunch, I was hit by a cell phone in the head on the hop past the staion on Millennium Force. That left me with a nasty lump on my head for a good while.

I dunno. Our ride op said to leave them off. It was a slow day and not too many people in line, I don't know if that has anything to do with it. But we did leave our bookbags (and the Gameboy) at the station.

I agree with 99er that a can or book would hurt much more than a hat, and that they might not allow it. You could just wear some sort of baggier clothing than usual so that it is un-noticeable though.

Back to the regular discussion....

I think the idea of changing clothes is pretty neat, but switching seats!...try that one!

Ok, no...but here's something that might be fun.

Bring a sign with you that on one side it says "Piece of cake" and on the other it says "More intense than I thought!" and bring it on bored. On the launch hold it up with a confident look and the side facing the camera says "Piece of cake". Then, at the top, switch it around to "More intense than I thought!" and hold it up to the webcam.

That would have to be a strong sign, definately not paper. 120+ mph winds would rip through paper (or possibly light cardboard) like a hot knife through butter.

"Oh Yeah, well I heard that they melted down wicked twister to make it"

I still wasn't saying that you should take those items on the ride, rollercoastO3. You should never take items on a coaster with you.

This isn't exactly an on ride photo thing...but one of my personal favorite things to do is take an "Alka-Seltzer" and at the end of the ride put it in my mouth...raw! That way when I am walking off the ride I can start foaming at the mouth...like a rabid rollercoaster FREEK!!

"Goodtimes"

Josh

I love the alks-seltzer idea. That would be really funny to see and it would work for TTD too. Just take it somewhere along the course of the ride and then for your "after" photo you would be foaming!

Can't wait to be at the Point!

hehe foaming at the mouth. reminds me of a simpsons episode giant seirzue robots lol! hehe i think taking things on rides isn't too cool....but if you are a seasoned coaster rider and know what the ride is like by heart like most of us on here, and you know if you could actually hold onto something small that is not as bad as someone having a cell phone come flying out of a pocket at mock5! solid things like that should be kept with a non rider. but rules are rules and some ppl persit on breaking them.

i am gonna try the shirt thing on TTD atleast once this summer! lol

Well, I don't know about you, but I sure wouldn't want ANY object hitting me at 120 MPH. Even if it is a fuzzy stuffed bunny!
