Idea for new name for midway

Fathorse...help me out here, but I was sure the train station was there in 1966. I remember riding the train and getting pop guns to help ward off the train robbers.

You are right in saying that part of the midway was renamed the Million Dollar Midway, but I still believe it was the main midway before the additions.

When the train first ran, the station was on the west side of the north end of the Main Midway, about where the Dodgem is now. Here is a park map from 1964 from VirtualMidway. Click History and then Brochures & Guides to see some really neat stuff. Brings back a lot of memories. I remember the pop guns, too, with the corks that popped out. I had forgotten all about them. I'm sure when they moved the train station in 1970 they already had plans for the Giant Wheel which went in in 1972.

When I designed the navigation for Virtual Midway, I made midway decisions (in part) based on the 1993 park guide.

I like the American Midway better. There could still be a gemini midway, but that could start over by Magnums entrance. What's wrong with a little pride?

The big hill, the sheer drop, the incredible speed. Long live Millennium Force!

If the ride had been themed to patriotic, then I would be all for America Midway, but it just doesn't seem to fit with Dragster.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

Lets not make CP into another Epcot. We dont need midways named after different countries.

Just a casual observation... aren't some very formal versions of the American flag bordered by gold (bright yellow) fringe, or hung by bright yellow cords?

Actually I think the fringe is intended to be interpeted as gold! Just a thought

Hey, let's simply keep it the midway. No need for modernizing the classic name. Drag Strip sounds cool, but who really cares about the name of the midway?
Who really cares about the name of the midway? Let me tell you who! Perhaps one of the hundreds of members of the Cedar Point Midway Names Club!

Ross: Rachel's pregnant.
Joey: Oh my God!!! I can't believe that!!
Phoebe: Holy mother of God!!!
Ross: With my child.
Phoebe: That is brand new information!!
