Kings Dominion is getting a completely different ride than Carowinds. They have the same name, but it is a different ride by 2 different manufacturers. Carowinds is getting a B&M hyper with only a lapbar. Kings Dominion is getting a Intamin Giga. It will have OTSR.

This proves that you shouldnt give your rides the same name at different parks.

I also agree that they should not name two totally different rides the same name. Thus you get confusion like i did. ahhhhhhh duh :)

Is there a reason why they are naming the rides the same?
I understand one is Intimidator 305 that one is at KD's
The other is just Intimidator... that one is at Carowinds.

My question is why name them the same if they are two totally different rides from two different designers?

If that was the case, my neck would spend the entire ride bouncing off the shoulder restraints, and that just isn't the case. The ride could get by just fine with a lapbar, but there is this mistaken notion in peoples minds that OTSRs are necessary when you go upside down. Without them, people would be thinking that the ride is unsafe.

And many rides have just lap bars when they go upside down.. Flight of Fear, Rip Rockit Ride, and... thats all I can think of the moment.
