ID for Processing In

Just a quick question about ID for processing in. Do you need your actual birth certificate or will a copy, along with photo ID (multiple forms of it) do the trick. My parents don't really want me running out there with my birth certificate! :) I know you can also use a social security card, but mine is missing. Grrr... :) Time to go fill out a 10 page form to get another one. :(

hmmm you might want to call HR on that one. I think they will take a copy though. Where are some HR people to help me answer this one.

From the "Welcome News" for CP Employees (2000):

Be sure to bring along:
Passport OR Driver's License OR School Picture ID
AND
Birth Certificate OR Original Social Security Card

It doesn't say it has to be the original birth certificate, however. I have a "birth record" that you can get from the county clerk in your town -- it has the embossed seal and works as a birth certificate. It's certainly understandable that you wouldn't want to take the original!

NOTE: This info if from 2000, but after 3 seasons of working for CP, it doesn't tend to change!

When I sent back my contract in January, I went ahead and sent in a certified copy of my birth certificate so they already had it when I processed in. I just went to the county clerk, just like CrystalKat said, and got it there. Then you do also need a photo ID-- I used my driver's license. Hope this helps! Good luck with processing in.
