I Quit !!!

How many will be quitting a higher paying job just to work at cedar point again. Im making 11+ an hour now but see myself leaving. Are we insane or brain washed?

I think a little bit of both. I think the fun and expeirence is worth what we dont get in pay.

Well, you know me...I am most likely going to be giving up salary and benefits...of course for those of you who know the real story, you understand why. But it still is amazing what we will do for that place. But I guess as a "lifer" I have to set the trend...

With the pay raise, I will be getting more money than my current job. Isn't that sad? :)

Don't worry, I'll be getting more as well! But I agree that the experience makes up for any job I could get back home.

They under pay us. However it's better then being home bored off your rump. It can be a very entertaining job. Either you like it or you don't

They underpay us...there is something that any former employee couldn't have told you...
but as we will all agree, it isn't always about the pay (although I will say that no one has gone through working there and not complained about the pay...I actually just got finished having a conversation with someone about this exact subject) Cedar Point is a job that you do because you love to do it, not because you have nothing else to do, not because you would be "home bored off your rump" otherwise; you do it because you love rollercoasters, or you love CP in general, or you do it to see the looks on the kids faces when they get off their first "big" ride; you do it to know all the ins and outs of the worlds greatest amusement park, you do it for 19 hour days without a break or for a 100 hour work week when you didn't know there were only 168 hours in a entire week (...well that week you did it for one hell of a paycheck!), you do it because running through the summer spectacular with four cash boxes and 5 seconds in the show left is fun, you do it for credits, big bash, the end of the year bonus that the government makes sure you never see, and cheesy "pickle for a nickel" and "pump number" videos (foods people are you with me?), getting soaked in thunderstorms, watching trash get sucked out of a dumpster only days after you saw your first water spouts. You do it because big blue trucks are fun to drive, halloweekends are cool, and every third monday doesn't suck as bad as the other two (MACHO NACHOS). You do it because getting on the "wall" is cool (until you see the picture and then you eat at Stockade for the week), because someone always needs ones and quarters, and because there is always a party going on somewhere at CP! ...or because you do occasionally meet that person who is just a notch or two above the average and they restore your faith in the next generation! don't forget sunrises over the beach, or the crunch of muffleheads under your "joggers" as our British friends called them...and because they actually put a roof over the bbq instead of basting with bird droppings!! (just kidding!!!!, I think they washed them off.....)and because the Park outside the fence is even more fun than the park inside the fence....

I do it for the big blue van and the privilege of being first on the scene whenever projectile bodily waste is involved. (I love being the grossest one in any room)

i am actualy going to be quiting a union job paying me 8.50 an hour plus benifits. they said that if i leave to go to cedar point that they are going to have to terminate my job and if i wanted to go back after the summer than i will have to buy back into the union which is $45 out of every check for ten weeks... but they can take that job and put it some where... i dont care i hate that job anyway... (stupid UPS)...

Everyone is saying kirk06 should be banned... because this is at least the 4th (that I've seen), many year old topic he brought back.. most of which were for no reason at all..

Anyway, DavidlovesCaitlin, it sounds like you work at Kroger? Am I right?
