As a minor, the best tip I could give you is to act mature when your at work. The biggest problem with the under 18 employee's is the way they act.

Totally agree with you Nash, I've seen a few green tags with such an attitude problem. (but don't let that scare you away...not all of them 'apes' of course) :)

Foods hires 14 and 15 year olds as well as a few other departments...however, most places you have to be 16, if not 18 to work. Most of the local kids work up there when they are 14 and 15 because it is hard for them to find a job anywhere else in town. I know that even where I work now we don't hire very many kids under 16 for the simple reason that there isn't a lot of stuff that they are allowed to do. 14 and 15 year olds can't do much, but they are a needed body (especially during the beginning and end of the seasons!) They get a bad rep most of the time, but I will be one to say that if it wasn't for them, there is no way that we (Foods at least) would be able to function during the summer! Sure some of them were not too mature, but how many of us had a job like that when we were 14 or 15...I sure didn't! I have 100% respect for anyone who works up there, but especially minors who do. In my five years at Cedar Point, some of my best employees have been under the age of 18! Good luck coasterGiRlY...maybe I will see you up there someday! :)
I wish I lived in Sandusky...Toledo is a long commute for a 15 year old kid with temps.

There is no possible way you can get me off Gemini.
I have a question. It does not have anything under 16 on the application but on the web site it does say 14? What do you put on the application if you are under 16? My Nephew found out I was going to work there this summer and wanted to work there as well. So I looked over the application (I have not sent it in yet) and was not sure if he could work there or not. Some help on this please?

If you are under 16, you would check "any" first, then you would pick what job you would like. There are several foods positions, such as catering and quick service, and games such as game host, and Merchandice cashier. Good Luck, if you have any specific questions email me or leave them here, I have a really nice manual for questions.

Zone 34, Thank you for defending the younger employees. I think if some of the opposition was honest with themselves, they would see that "attitude" goes both ways..and there is a lot to living up to what is expected of you. I have seen some of the young ones treated very badly, simply because of their age. I also am aware that the predjudice was built on past experience--but as a mom of 2 employees-ages 14 and 16--I thank you for your POSITIVE attitude!!!
Well I don't expect to be thanked for my opinion, but I appreciate it anyways. I know I am in the minority on this subject, but I think most of them are just too proud to admit that they couldn't get by without the minors...I however, will take whatever help I can get (...something I have learned in five years there!), and I am even happy to say that one of the few people that I regularly keep in touch with is one of my minors from 4 years ago! There are also people out there who started out as minors out and have worked their way up to full time positions, so anyone that says minors are useless should talk to some of those silver tags...I had one as a boss last year! :)
