I just missed MF reopening on 7/9 argggh

Just got back from a trip to Cedar. what an adventure. It started with missing our plane in Tampa by 10 minutes. Luckily United got us on standby and on board another plane on the sixth . We had planned to starlight then but sleep seemed like a good Idea. Comfort Inn is great and we saved a lot using the shuttle BUT that caused me to lose my chance at MF. It reopened almost at closing on Sunday but the line was long enough that I'd probably miss my ride. Oh well..better luck next time

I just loved the park and setting and rides. Doing a loose quick count,I got 4 TTD's(one a 10 minute wait after a breakdown on the gold car Saturday around noonish). Two demon drops with daughter. We also got in a Raptor,Calypso, WT,MaxAir and Blue streak on Friday night. I know I did Mean streak(once with daughter in front car holding hands high in the air) at least seven times. I rode skyhawk about six times(one op called it Sky Falcon) at all times of day. Early and last rides were the best and shortest lines. The park lights at night and the lake(with a full moon shining on it) are awesome.

In the next two days I got in WT two more times and Magnum about six times. Note: TTD is a thrill but I think Magnum is my favorite.max air is fantastic. Length of ride beats Skyhawk hands down.On one ride Saturday a lady next to me had her cell phone slip from her back pocket and briefly levitate in front of me. Then splat near DT. Daughter and I did DT once the whole trip. She HATES Mantis but Iron dragon is fun. Corkscrew is kind of blah(did it twice)but a great place to watch TTD when it launches...or fails to which it did Saturday. I ended up getting a ten minute wait on it then. I did the mine ride twice..both evening rides. Saw the rock show and living in america. Both are excellent. I did get to catch but a little of Divas. Wasn't impressed.

saw some weird stuff. Two kids jumped out of line at magnum and whizzed in the trees but got caught. They were walked back to parents with a warning.

I did the up side of Tower once and Gemini twice. Ride op there said it was three miles an hour faster than Raptor and 60 faster than Mf*s* Ride ops seemed looser in the morning and evenings. Good interaction with them for the most part but got yelled at for rocking the witches wheel after it stopped and was just sitting there.

Best thing of whole trip was doing ripcord with my daughter. I don't know how long I'll be able to continue doing stuff like that and she really wanted to have me do it with her. I let her pull the cord. She was soooo full of confidence and beaming after it. Still is. Just the idea that I would do something that daring with her and "let her take my life in her hands." meant a lot to her. We needed that. I learned never to take my wife on witches wheel again. It made her sooo sick. Ditto with MaxAir. She's a definite landlubber. She got to do a recording of "The Rose" at the studio though and got a kick out of having it played park wide. My sincere apologies to anyone there Sunday who heard it*l*Love her though and she'll always remember doing that.

CP does seem to be a great family park. I'll always remember this trip and hope to come back but stay on site. Oh yeah.. a few other things.Midway market is a fantastic place for lunch and has outlets to recharge digital camera batteries. The bush in front of TTD behind the bench is a great place to hide a water bottle and not get a locker.

You're not the only one who missed the reopening of MF. i had to leave the park at 2 on sunday. i live 7 hours away from Cedar Point and had to be home that night. when i got home i was so mad when i read that it was running again.

mitt..I had noticed crews replacing some sort of motor on it while I took the train ride back to Mean Streak. I think that was right around two or three. I just figured they would fix it and and wait to reopen on Monday. About 9:45 ,I was in the back of the park again and a ride op .who shall remain nameless ,told some of the people in line(very few of us) that three or four cars had been seen going up on MF. Surprised me. There was still a long line for it at 10:40 or so. Had to be be back in Cleveland to catch a plane to Tampa Monday . If I hadn't been near the back of the park I'd have probably gotten a ride in.Being responsible can be such a drag*lol*
