If you're old enough to be in college I'm sure you're old enough to be a Screamster. Most of the time even if you're under 18 with a GED you can do the 18 year old jobs. As far as doing Screamsters instead of hosting there is a chance. I'd suggest calling your manager ASAP chances are if they hired you to work weekends they're gonna need you.

Aside from lifeguards and some people in Challenge Park, people already working in other departments usually have a hard time getting to switch to Screamsters for Halloweekends. It's mostly due to departments having shorter staffing already during that part of the season. The best thing to do is to ask your manager about it now and try to work something out.
I did this my first year; I worked until August and drove down with my friends for a few weekends. Usually you'll be working in the same restaurant, unless you're able to make an arrangement otherwise.
