I see they are closing Southbound I-75 to I-280 again, they are forcing you to use SR475 to get around the detour.. I don't have a map of Toledo but cant you get off at Exit 2 on I-75 (Before Ohio) and drive via Bay Creek Rd to get pass all the construction or should I just use the turnpike?

Take I-75 to Exit 202A (I believe thats the number. It's the one for Fifth Third Park, and it says DOWNTOWN. it's a 2 lane exit) and take that road, make a right at the fork, which is Washington. Take that up till it dead ends at a light which is SR-. Make a right. Follow 51 signs over the suspension bridge. Then you'll have to make a left after the bridge about 3/4 of a mile which is clearly marked as SR-2.

I usually take 23 down to the pike. Coming from the west side its not worth it to drive all the way to 75, and i try to avoid 275 like Michael avoids males over the age of 13.

Jugg, LOL, funny. Ya 75 would be a haul for you all the way from the West side. I live 4 blocks from I75, so for me it works out the best.

bholcomb has it right. Follow those instructions and you'll easily end up on Rt. 2 while avoiding the 280 mess. I live in Sylvania, which is closer to the Maumee turnpike entrance, but going to Rt. 2, even while cutting through downtown, is significantly faster.

I noticed that photo a long time ago. I think I went to college with this guy. His looks are definately deteriorating. I feel very sorry that his picture is on snopes, however; I am glad that he has to have a picture on the sex offenders registration. (kinda sad) What a life he must live.

This is basicallly the detour (just for anyone who might be confused): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v175/Dragster420/untitled3.bmp
I've took it before, it's a bit of drive (20+ extra min depending on traffic). So if you're planning on getting to the point early and you need to take this detour, then I would suggest getting up just a little bit earlier.

Does anybody know if this closure is because of the bridge construction? Or am I answering my own question?

280 is still closed for the bridge project, and I believe it's to remain closed for the rest of the summer. If you go up to the third post on this thread, read bholcomb's instructions. They're easy to follow. The only correction is that it's Rt. 51, not Rt.53. When you go over the bridge, just drive straight until you see signs for Rt. 2. It will be a left hand turn.

And this gets you back on to I-280?

I'm sorry, it's just that I'm trying to map it out on mapquest and all it gives is street names. Is there anyway somebody can map it out so I can see it for myself (or give me their street names of Rt. 51 and Rt. 2 ).
Again, sorry. I just want to make sure... *** Edited 7/27/2005 6:52:04 PM UTC by TTD 120mph***

Or just go my route, and take the freeway farther, and go through less of downtown.
