Not a big fan of spinning rides. There is a ride similar to maxair at six flags called tomahawk, except you sit facing inside the circle instead of out, and i think it spins faster. That ride takes me out for almost an hour afterwards..
Maxair looks much better, just wondering what the spin factor is,and if you cant take spinning like teacups, how will this affect ability to ride Maxair?
One word....Dramamine! I wouldn't be able to ride anything with my kids (spinny rides) without it!

My daughter has told me she wont let me ride it....she doesnt want to have to lose an hour while I recover...
I like MaxAir much better at night instead of during the day with the sun beating on me. My daughter's boyfriend was all excited to ride it with me last summer, but when it was over, he renamed it MaxSick. :)

I have only been on maXair once; the reason being a got motion sickness after the ride. If you get sick from spinning, I don't know if this ride is the best choice. Everybody has a different tolerance for spinning though.
I am not much for spinning rides but I can actually handle MaXair. Once your in full swings you dont notice the spinning as much. About the only time the spinning gets is right about the end of the ride when it slows down for a stop.

Sky Hawk is basically MaxAir without the spinning. I suggest going on that.
Good plan, will focus on that
Normally can't ride spinny rides anymore, but I really like Maxair, so I do. The trick I use is to spot something as long as I can and then quickly turn my head to look at something directly across from my first spot item. I use the loop on Raptor and the number on Disaster Transport. This is the same technique used by dancers and skaters to be able to spin so fast.
The ride would be fine if it didn't last for ten years! lol. I loved the one at the fair but this one just isn't for me. I can't stomach the Sky Hawk either! My dad NEVER gets sick and he was sick ALL day from that one!
I usually can't go on any spinny ride at all without feeling terrible for a while later. But with Maxair I didn't really notice the spinning at all and I loved it so much I got back in line and went on it again. It's the only spinning ride I can go on.

I can say that in my many trips to Cedar Point, maXair is the only ride I've seen multiple people get sick from riding.
It has its moments, but I prefer Skyhawk. For people who are worried about getting sick, Skyhawk (1) doesn't spin and (2) doesn't last as long.
Still, I like the sensation better on Skyhawk because it's a straight swing, so you really feel it when you reach the apex of each swing.
Whether it's Skyhawk or maXair, make sure you sit in the front seat! That will give you the best ride! :-)
I an one of the biggest haters of spinny rides on the planet. If I ride Matterhorn or Super Himalaya, I'm done for at least an hour. Lolli Swings, if I've eaten for a half a day before I ride, it's a good thing there are restrooms relatively close to the exit. maXair, I can ride all day, no problem. I just don't notice the spin that much. Besides, the time I'm not on the spinny rides gets me one or two more laps on MF or Raptor.
One of the few Mean Streak lovers left in the world.
Can't do MaxAir. Rode it one time and had to go back to the room for an hour. Felt queasy for the remainder of the day. Raptor makes me queasy too if i do back- to-back rides on that. Gemini has a circular part near the end that makes me minorly dizzy.
