^Try Comfort Suites too, if you like Comfort Inn.
I'm not a big person on hotels, but the Comfort Suites has been outstanding the couple of times I've stayed there. The microwave and mini fridge are very nice to have.

The MicroTel on Rye Beach Road right off route 2 is very nice. Indoor pool, free breakfast and WiFi.
Well can you make a reservation at the Maples, cause on their website it has nothing like that!
I don't want to just show up and hope they have a room! haha

You have to call them. Joanie is a VERY nice lady. Tell her that Josh Wozny and Ben Holcomb told you to call and said you would enjoy a stay at the maples.
You won't be sorry :)
haha, I just might have to do that then. I mean, their prices aren't bad, and it does seem kind of cool since its like straight out of the 50's! haha.
Just so the room has a shower and a toilet, I'm happy! haha
How close is it to the park?
p.s. Anything is better than the Shady Acres (or maybe it was Shady Pines) Campground! haha. We stayed there last summer on my youth group trip. The cabins were like a tool shed! haha

Oh yeah, that's what I loved about it.
My girlfriend LOVES it, and if she loves a place, it MUST be clean. I used to have the same opinion as you, but I went to CoasterMania at the last minute this year and needed a place to crash. We ended up spending more time at the hotel than we thought we would. I haven't taken a swim in the pool there, but the hammock and all the grass around the hotel make for great places to relax.
When you wake up on the morning of your checkout, there's no rush to leave, so we just hung around and played with Daisy (the hotel dog) until we were awake and energized enough to head to the park.
Sure, it's a bit old, but its clean. It's right at the end of the Chausee, so it's still close to the park, too.
Well thats good. I seriously might stay there then. I'm glad you guys mentioned it.
And once again, just for the record, the rooms DO have a shower and a toilet?! haha

Yes, Ben told you that a few posts ago.
It's an old 1950's/60's roadside motel that's been preserved to have that same nostalgia without falling apart and getting dirty and gross.
If you book a single room with 1 double bed, there's actually a free roll-away bed already in the room. I would say go for the double or family room, though, for optimal space. :)
Has anyone stayed at the South Shore Inn? The only reason we reserved their was because it was close and it is $118.00 for the first night. Also It had a good raiting on hotels.com but that might not mean anything. Does anyone know anything about it or heard anything about it?

What's the Maples. I couldn't find it anywhere. Is it expensive?!
And Tony, there are 2 Howard Johnson Expresses very close to each other. Which one are you talking about?
The one right outside the causeway near Thirsty Pony's
That reminds me, I have to do that still.
I wonder if they fixed the hammock yet. I felt absolutely horrible when one of my friends broke it the last time we were there :(. He was swinging too high and it fell.
Honestly, I didn't notice if it was fixed or not. She did, however, mention it. So I assume it was fixed.
OK, the people at the Maples ARE VERY nice... though accomodation wise you'd be about as well off to pitch a tent. I'm sorry to be the dissenter, but I have a feeling you'd be rather dissapointed there. I just went to visit someone there and couldn't bring myself to stay in the room more than 5 minutes.

it was just very old and very outdated. I cant help but believe that regardless of how clean they may appear, 20-40 year old carpet, curtains, and comforters do not seem welcoming or sanitary.
