Well I've heard anything from 100-500 dollars, personally I'd recommend you get a bank account that your parents can add money to. Fifth third is a good bank that can do that for you :)

Gabe, keep in mind, not everyone has parents that has 300-500 sitting around...

With any job that pays bi-weekly there's going to a period anywhere from two - three weeks where you don't get paid, depending on when you start and how that interacts with their pay periods. The nice thing is, when your contract is up, you'll have a nice paycheck a week or two after you process out.

My advice? Try to start saving now, so that when you process in you have a little bit of money to spend essentials. And how much really would depend on what your spending habits. I probably would say you could TECHNICALLY get by on about $10 per day, just eating off of the dollar menu in the cafe and not really going out.

Cafe with a.dollar menu ? Perfect....ill last with $100 at least...because I don't spend a lot if I need to survive lol and my phone bill is due on the 27 th each month so I hope that I acctually get my check before then

The dollar menu includes cheeseburgers, fries, chicken strips, slice of pizza... pop costs 27 cents.

Don't forget Ramen Noodles are like 17 cents per serving. Not that I recommend an all Ramen Noodle diet. :)

They have cards at the Walmart near Cedar Point that you can put your money on without having to get a bank account or anything like that. Or, if you were looking to set up an account, there are banks around.

If you are from out of town and looking to set up a bank account, the best way to do it is to see what banks the ATMs in the parks use. That way if you're at the park and need money you won't end up getting charged extra to take cash out if your bank isn't listed on it.

Also, with cashing checks at Wal Mart there will be times when you go to cash your check and they will say they can't because they either don't have money to do it, or their system will give a reason as to why it can't cash your check.

The problem is Cedar Point uses a generic bank, so people will still get slapped with the fees no matter what (I think it's $2.5 per use). $2.5 per use adds up quickly over the period of a summer.

The best bet is set up a bank account (or have a bank account) and then have direct deposit. Most places (the common store, the cafe, etc) take debit / credit cards. If you happen to need cash, go to Walmart, Kroger, Target, Meijers, etc. At the checkout, use your debit card. When asked: Do you want cash back, select yes, and then chose the amount you want.

Not all. Some banks do waive the fee on the ATMs in the park.

Do yourself a favor and find a Credit Union. You can find one close to home, and through the magic of shared branching, use one of the several CU's located around Sandusky (or anywhere else you may go). All the convenience of a bank (direct deposit, debit card, checks, etc) and none of the nonsense.

Good luck trying to use the ATM's in the park... 99.99% of the time they are broken/out of order...
