How will the recession(depression)affect CP

^^ too bad Holiday World only has 4 or 5 things worth riding. No matter how great Voyage is, it'll get old eventually. The waterpark is awesome but a 45 minute wait for a waterslide isn't really worth it.

2007,2008 Ripcord

As an employee and a shareholder, I'm hoping that attendance holds out this summer at all the parks. I really need that dividend to hold up.

I know we spent a small fortune on gas to get to the point last year! We packed a lunch and drinks. I know that our budget is so tight that we wacth every dime! So we just plan our visits and work with what we got because I know I really enjoy being at the park and it is a great stress break from things! My husband calls it "my mental getaway!" Yes we all need money, but we also need to be happy!

Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs

I hear Six Flags is having economic trouble to the extent of going bankrupt.

^Most likely. It is news to me thought, especially the bankruptcy part

I could have bought Six Flags corporation with my Amex card not too long ago.

That company is in serious financial trouble...down 86% on the market in the last year, CP down almost 60%, and Disney down 44%

I hope that CP is forced to rethink the value they offer consumers after this year. Food, atmosphere, and so on.

We the consumer will definitely be showing with our pocket book how we feel about CP food prices and more.

^yikes, that is terrible. I really feel that CP should be advertising specials.

First rollback=opening weekend '09

What special?

CP rush's avatar

^that's my point ha, they really should be advertising some sort of discount/special/etc. to lure in guests

They usually do. There are discounts all over the place every summer such as Pepsi cans, AAA discounts, etc.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

There really isn't any reason to pay full admission. Between what Pete mentioned, plus the fact that if you request it THEY will mail YOU coupons and Meijer down the road sells discount tickets it's easy to find discounts.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

^ Very true Vince. Before i got my season pass for the first time i was going to the local Meijer and getting the discount tickets. Even then i could go up to a AAA branch and get discount tickets. SO yea there is no reason to pay full price for admission. unless your crazy!

Ooooh, you mean unless "you're" crazy. I see.

My author website: mgrantroberts.com.

I bet that almost everyone who goes to CP gets tickets for the "same price" within $3.

It "isn't" the $3, it is the lodging, food, and gas price.

I wouldn't bet on that, there's a lot more businesses out there that either through employment or other contacts allows for a lot more of a discount than the standard that you say everyone gets.
