How Long will Dinosaurs Alive Stay?

Will they expand on Dinosaurs alive like they are doing at Kings Island or use the area for a new attraction over the next year or two? What do you think?

I don't think CP has much room on the island to "expand" it, and considering it was just installed last year, I don't see it leaving anytime soon. They could always put a ride over it though. My vision would be a green B&M flyer called "Pterodactyl". ;)

I'm pretty sure there is a terminal lease on the attraction.

Frankly, I don't see it as something that will be around 5 years from now. At least I hope not.

I'm happy kids like it...I'm happy families have something to do, but it just seems tacky to me personally.

I hope they're taking the money they are making on it into a giant piggy bank labeled "future family dark ride".

I would love to see them add safari trucks that take you to see all the dinos similar to Disney's Kilamanjaro Safari.

while i understand the desire for more family friendly attractions, i would love to see Barney and friends go away and paddlewheel excursions come back. i need an update on the price of fur

I thought I read that CP has a 5-year contract for Dinosaurs Alive.

How long? Too long. So far as I am concerned, they have already outstayed their welcome.

I've said it before but I'll say it again. Once Dinos are gone I really want to have a nice woodie added on Millennium---I mean Adventure--Island. I'd prefer an Intamin like El Toro but I think a GCI would fit well in that area. Or maybe even a Rocky Mountain coaster.

I'd rather have a GCI or a RMC if we get a woodie, their layouts have been insane lately. Especially the GCI stuff overseas. I'd really like to see RMC get more business, especially new installations.

Well, if you consider the timing of the lease, those dinos will be going extinct in just about the right timeframe, yes?

Three seasons of family-focused installations, and launch the meteor at these carnival attractions.

Interesting thought to add a GCI onto Millennium Island. Comparing it to Thunderhead at Dollywood, for the most part the ride could fit onto the island. Now this might require that the wooden structure would be built around Millennium Force, similar to this roller coaster at Europa-Park. http://www.thecoastercritic.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Wodan-Eu...Park-9.jpg

I think a woodie would be cool, but a euro fighter would be cooler imo

I seem to recall someone on here having a rather well done pic of a wooden coaster when over-engineer-the-rapids was on the way.

Ew no. Not a euro fighter. I still don't see the draw of those. It would also be a bad fit for the park as they have a VERY small capacity. We are talking 600-900 PPH. I wish I still had the list of ride capacity at the park handy for comparison.

^ And I agree. Euro fighters can stay in Europe. Jut no where near capacity standards for CP.

The one "overseas" ride I'd want is an Intamin Mega-Lite. They're pretty awesome, they're halfway between Maverick and but we still run into a capacity issue with them as they run at 800 PPH. The lowest capacity adult coaster in the park (Dragster) runs at 1000 PPH

Now that's the standard model, I'm sure they could up that in a custom one, but CP seems Intamined-out right now, I'd rather see a Mega-Lite go to MiA. I think it would be a good fit for that park.

Where did you get 1000 PPH for Dragster? From what I have seen is 1500 PPH, which makes sense since it has 5 trains running.

Funny as soon as someone discovers new empty space in the park, (when the dinosaurs leave) people bring up a wooden coaster. A big wooden coaster would not fit in there, it's too crammed with millennium and shoot the rapids. They should bring back paddlewheel, if they still have the parts for the boats, because now the lagoon will just be sitting there growing algae.

Last summer I had a four year old who would much rather ride Iron Dragon eight times in a row than go see the dinosaurs and this Mom was happy to oblige rather than pay five bucks to go see them!
