how does rides dept. work?

is cps rides dept. like myne here at silverwood wehre you learn alot of rides and get stuck on different ones daily and you rotate througout the day, or do you learn one ride and that is your ride for the year? i know disney operators only work on one ride per year, that seems really freakin boring to me.
like me i know every ride in the park and it is only my second year. (of course we only have 23 rides)

One ride for theoretically the year, but they will crosstrain you at different places sometimes. Lots of people switch rides throughout the summer as well, but realistically, you're confined to 1 ride most of the summer.

...unless you are stuck in one of the flat ride triangles. I do feel for those people.

I was contracted to Dragster, but they were overstaffed, so they moved me to Sky Ride. I worked Sky Ride for one week then moved to Millennium Force (I'm really not sure why I moved there; one day the TL said "Josh, you wanna move to Millennium?") Thunder Canyon was understaffed one week so I had to go there for a week, and then I returned to Millennium Force. So basically, I was on the MF crew, even though it was only for about a month.

2008: Hard Rock Park - Maximum RPM! Opening Supervisor
2008/2009: Universal Orlando - Men in Black: Alien Attack Team Leader, Guest Services Coordinator

I was contracted for Skyride. I was there the entire time I was there. For a few hours I was sent to Peanuts Playground, and one day I was at Mantis, but in really, I only was at Skyride. At Skyride, it seemed that if you were there before May was over, you were there the rest of the summer.

And Josh, hi!

Hi Travis!

I was on Magnum but then transfered to TTD July 4th and I consider myself a Dragster crew member more than a Maggie member

I was contracted to Wildcat, and worked there until the end of May, so about 3 weeks. I was then moved to Millennium Force, and stayed there for the remainder of the summer, eventually being trusted to be the one in charge of closing the ride when the two blue tags were not there.

Ha, true. Well actually some of the purple tags were there on a couple of the nights, luckily they weren't toooo much trouble :)

what are ''tags''?

Your ID. There are light green tags, dark green tags, red tags, blue tags, silver tags, and gold tags.

Light green tags are for employees that are 14 and 15.
Dark green tags are for employees that are 16 and 17.
Red tags are for employees that are over 18 and are regular members of a crew
Blue tags are Team Leaders, Assistent Team Leaders, and Supervisors
Silver tags are year-round employees.
Gold tags are year-round employees that have been with Cedar Point for 25 years or more. (I'll be a gold tag when I'm 43)

Try going to 19 rides, plus Town Hall, in one season... I've got the list somewhere, but I'm sure that I missed something along the way... I probably did more than that.

What I do remember is that I was contracted to Paddlewheel. Went there for 4 days before getting moved to Monster/WW. I was there for about 3 weeks before being asked "Kris, wanna go to SRF?" Since that's my favorite water ride, of course I said yes. Working it is slightly different, though. After about 2 1/2 months, I got bounced around like a ping-pong ball all over the park before ending up at PT/Iron Dragon for bonus weekends and the first 4 Halloweekends. Then got moved to PT/Mean Streak. I was so relieved to be on a RELAXING ride for the last weekend... the train.

Or you can be like the Dragster Crew and between all of us we worked every single ride in the park. I guess you could call us the best trained crew in the park.

2007-2008 Dueling Dragons TL
2008- present Sea World Orlando Shamu Lead Area 2

Wow, I'm trained on 3 rides and I've been called a ride whore. Haha.

By the end of this season I was trained on Dragster, Corkscrew, Power Tower, Gemini Childrens Area, Monster/Witches Wheel and Camp Snoopy. Just call me the ride whore of Zone 3

Well, if you were the zone 3 ride whore, I was one of the zone 1 ride whores. I was trained on Raptor, of course, Blue Streak, Disaster Transport, Wicked Twister, Giant Wheel, Space Spiral, Troika, Turnpike Cars, Demon Drop, and Peanut's Playground. There's probably more, I just can't remember them right now!
