How do you think crowds will be this coming Sunday and Monday?

We are going this Sunday and Monday to Cedar Point. From those that know what do you think the crowds will be like. It is labor day weekend!

I already read that. I was just asking if some regulars might have a good guess as the attendence I know school has or is starting but it is a holiday weekend. Im driving in from Milwaukee, WI.

Well, it could be rainy all weekend and the crowds could be slim.

Or it could be 85 and partly cloudy with fairly heavy crowds getting in one last trip before fall.

The truthful answer is No one knows what the crowd will be like on a specific day.

Why does no one ever accept the answer as the answer?

I'm sorry I asked.

Think of it this way:

If I tell you it will be busy, are you going to cancel your trip?

And if I tell you it won't be busy and it is, you'll call me a liar.

You're not the first one to ask the question. And you won't be the last one to question why we can't just tell you how busy it'll be.

Man, JuggaLotus you can't answer how busy CP will be this weekend. Well, then how busy will KI be this weekend. Will there be any people there at all? Or, will we have the whole park to ourselves?

Thanks for nothing smarta$$!

Fine, I'll tell you.

On Sunday, there will be 11,312 (+/-7,000) people in the park by 3:00PM EDT. On Monday, there will be 10,748 (+/-7,000) people in the park by 3:00PM EDT.

You're welcome. :)

I would say Monday will have a relatively small crowd from past experience. They close at 8pm that day. Sunday, hard to tell, but it shouldn't be too crowded. There are so many other things going on, at least in the Cleveland area on Labor Day weekend.

I'm headed there this Friday, I'm hoping the crowds stay fairly thin up until 4:00 p.m. or so. After that and for the rest of the weekend... who knows. If it turns out to be lower 70s and sunny (which is the forecast), it wouldn't shock me if it is slammed Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday.

Will be my last non-halloweekends day at the point this year... ALREADY?!?! :(

Maybe alwaysrocking didn't want an exact estimate of how many guests would be at the park, but just a guess from past experiences. Isn't that partly what this site is for? For "the general public" to beable to ask "regulars" questions to make their trip more enjoyable?

Does it really make you guys feel better about yourselves to come on Pointbuzz and belittle people? If I had been to CP Labor day before, I would have just told him what my past experiences dealing with crowd levels were...instead of making him feel like an a** for asking a simple question.

"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"

Jugga answered alwaysrocking in his first & second responses, with what is probably the most accurate answer. That apparently wasn't good enough for alwaysrocking, who then had to resort to name-calling.

And as anyone who has done any investing will tell you, past experience does not indicate future performance.

Hence - "No one knows what the crowd will be like on a specific day."

Which, based on other responses (one saying it could be busy, the other saying it might be dead), is still the most accurate anyone here can provide.

Just because you keep asking what color the sun is, doesn't mean you're going to get an answer other than "yellow".

Thank you Clevelandkid, Kyle2154 and Jesz for your helpful answers. Thats all i was looking for.

Got ya.

Jugga no crap. I was just trying to get an idea but your holier than though attitude really ruined that for me. I did get a couple of good answers and they weren't from you!

Jesz you hit it on the head they do seem to enjoy belittling people.

Last edited by alwaysrocking,

The holiday weekend trend that I have seen is that Sunday is pretty busy, it essentially becomes a Saturday. And Monday is not a very heavy crowd, it becomes a Sunday. There will still be lines on Labor Day but certainly not like a middle of July day. The times we have gone on Labor Day have been good days.

I know - a lot of generalities and trends with no specifics but I have a hunch that is what you are after.

I've been on Labour Day twice in the past few years. The park had very light crowds and the weather was perfect both years. I suspect as the day goes on people start leaving too because they need to get to work and school and Tuesday. I will be there on Monday too and hoping for light crowds. I was also there yesterday and experienced the smallest crowds I've seen this season.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
