How do you do it??

Cedar Point is life. All the rest is an interruption, not vice-versa. I do have a full time job, but I never get bored on Raptor!

Cp is a way of life.  I can't explain any secrets I just make time for CP.  You just go and leave your cell phone, pager behind and go.  It's an escape from the "real world" go and have fun.

"WE HAVE ANOTHER CHOICE PRIZE WINNER"
It helps to be the boss... also the fact I'm there about 4 days a week if not more. Most of my rides came early in the season where the line was WAY less than an hour. Best so far this year was 12 in a single day.

There are actually days I don't even ride it (like the last 3 because of VertiGo). My count really shot through the roof last year during MM when I pulled 68 rides in a single event.

I've almost lost interest in counting these days.. If counts really payed off.. I could have been on the discovery channel show.. but politics seem to beat out #'s so I don't reall ysee the reason for it after this season.

Vince, you say that whenever you make plans, someone else ruins them...do you mean by them not going?

If this is the case, just go by yourself! I went by myself last time, and I had a great time. You can be spontaneous by riding whatever you want, whenever you want. You can make new friends by talking to people in line. You can eat on the go, on in a restaurant...whatever you want. You can power ride, or try to hit every single coaster. You can walk at your own pace, so you don't have to wait for any straglers. And best of all, if you're waiting up front and there is another loner, you can skip several minutes by riding with them.

I recommend going alon at least once so you can see if you like it.

When you live 3 hours away it's not as easy to go to CP every week, but we have gone 6 times and will be there next week again. You just have to love the place to understand the obsession with it. If I lived closer, I would be there every week. My hubby won't move so I have to be satisfied with occasional visits.
rcred, I know the feeling. I live about 3 hours away, and I've been there twice this year.

The real kicker is that I won 2 tickets from a local radio station, and my parents won't let me drive there by myself or with one of my friends...It sucks.

I work Sunday thru Thursday and try to go to C.P. on Friday's. I've only been there 8 times this year with plans for 7 more. I've had 183 roller coaster rides so far this season, with plans for many more. I'm also 125 miles/2.5 hours away from my home in Springfield

I live less than 2 hours away, and MM will be my 9th and tenth visits, i've rode MF 34 times this year, so if its just speed and no substance, bring it on baby, i'm buyin'.....
I agree with ya,Rob. I never keep a running tally for my rides. I just do daily counts once in awhile.

The last time I kept a running tally was in 1989 when Magnum opened. I was working at park,so I rode almost everyday. I had 526 rides on Magnum that 1st season. The 2nd season,I got up to about 600 when I decided to quit keeping track. To me,it took some of the enjoyment out of the ride. I'dhate to think what the total might be. The past couple of years,I've had alot of good ride days with Dan.

This has been a bad year so far.I've only been at the park 16 days so far.

It helps when your job requires you to go to Cedar Point a lot and ride the different rides and research different aspects of the park. I live about 2 hours a way but I been/try to get to the park at least every two weeks.

I got 59 laps in the other day, it helped with back to school and the threat of rain.

For me counting is fun.

Jerry is right we always have a good time riding together.  Accept Labor Day '98, but that topic is not allowed to be discussed here on GTTP.

I live in California, and have to settle for SFMM and SFMW   (My parents refuse to take me to non-Six Flags Parks since I have a season pass).  This summer was an exception, though, cause I got to choose one place to go! Wow, SFMM sucks compared to CP not to mention SFMW :P

I AM only 50 minutes from Shivering T's...so I guess things aren't all bad.  I hope CF has MAJOR expansion plans for MI ADV.  The place has potential!

Andrew, what exactly is your job that it entails going to the park for research?

Technically, ERT does also stand for Employee Ride Time, something we employees get on certain days at certain times during certain monts in a certain season...;)

2002..2 coasters..one park..
just a dumb rumor..

CP_bound, Since you asked I will tell you... I am the owner of Experience The Point.Com. So I spend a lot of time at the park taking pictures(took over 350 pictures this year) and working on other stuff for my website.

Also early this spring I drew up a rough draft of my book and sent it to the publisher. They loved it, so the work started. I had just over 4 months to complete it. So I spent many days working and researching my book. One time this year I spent a full week in June at Cedar Point, staying at the different hotels, and riding every single ride(and when I got off I wrote down what I thought, and gave it a rating). Then I spent one of the Joe Cool morning sitting towards Corkscrew/Coasters and watched and wrote down where people went first(I actual have a blueprint of the park ,which I drew, which I mapped out where people went throughout the day). I also spent over 4 hours total in the Town Hall studying Cedar Point's history. So far this summer I have 3 notebooks fill with notes I took. It was a great, I got paid to ride the rides and write what I thought about the ride.
