How do you do it??

This question is for the Cedar Point over-obsessive. As I read these forums I can't help to notice on people's signatures the ride counts for the 2001 season. Some people have (or clame to have) 100's of rides on rides like MF that have wait times of over an hour. Here's the question: Where do you guys find the time to ride on a ride that much let alone go to CP that much? Do you guys not have a day job? And, most importantly, don't you get board with that ride after so many rides?? I live 45min. from the park, and so far this year I have been to CP only 5 times. On those five trips I have rode each coaster once, maybe twice each trip. So what's your story??
Many of us are ACE members, which gives us ERT at many parks.  You can get many rides on coasters during events like this.  Also, many people here work or did work at CP in the passed.  Lastly, some just go a lot because they have a season pass.

I'd say that a number of the posters here (or a few at least), are also in school, meaning summers off. Not me, I haven't been once... The commute from FL is quite a bear. And aren't there ERTs for season pass holders every so often? And if you managed to go early in the season (Mayish), the lines were non-existent, meaning definately more than once or twice per coaster per day.

Just look at Dan's Magnum counts.  Back in May, he got 70 in one day, twice!  There's over 140 Magnum rides already for him just in two days.  The key is going on non-crowded days and just riding and riding.  Millennium Mania provides big numbers as well.

-MH, back at last
Well, I live west side of Cleveland, but I work only 30 minutes from CP, so I sometimes go after that.
About 75% of my MF, and Magnum rides came in May, early June, or from ERT. Other than that I usually go 2 or 3 times a week around 5 PM. A wait for the Force then is usually only 45 minutes. Then I ride Magnum towards nightfall and can get 10-15 laps in easy. I leave the Magnum walk ons about 5 minutes till close and make MF my last ride of the night and the wait is normally less than 30 minutes. Waiting in line is not that bad and its fun to stir up conversation with first time riders, coastering type people, etc.
So basically its going several times a week and knowing what times to ride.

Yea, you get most of your rides in the beginning of the season. Events help too, like AAA days, Coastermania, ect. Also, this year the new Joe Cool club is a big help with ERT for members on certain days.

Don't let life fly by.

I have have been off school all summer and unemployed (but looking for work) and a season pass holder as well and still don't find the time that you guys do to go to CP.

Something is not right with that.

I am not a member of ACE for good reasons I would rather not say, so ERT is not a common thing for me. However, after the reviews of Millennium Mania from last year, I am going to try to make a trip for it this year.

BTW, non of you guys have answered the question: Do you ever get tired of riding a particular ride 100's of times?? I know I would.

Quick question, although it may sound stupid, but what's ERT?

ERT stands for "Exclusive Ride Time." It is when only members of a participating group can ride a coaster or ride.

When the time comes to get my CP season pass, I can't wait to go during September and May and June to rack up some serious rides

I've ridden Magnum over 85 times this season and I could go for another 85 right now.  I end up at the park once to two times a week usaully in the evening hours due to a full time work schedule.  You just make CP a weekly event you plan on going always a week or so in advance.  When you love something as much as CP you want to spend as much time as possible there.

My signature lets you know what I have for the season and what I have since May 17th of 1997.  I will break 2000 on Magnum during MM.  The interesting thing is I plan on going to all of the MM, by entering MM my count will be at atleast 600 for the year and I hoping on getting atleast 200 rides out of the MM which puts me in stiking distance of 1000 for the season!

No it doesn't get boring!

It's a coaster...it never gets boring. Especially MF...how can you get bored with all that speed and intensity? :)

I've only been to CP 9x so far this season and have planned all those trips perfect for the most power riding times. Coastermania helped, (not to mention what an AWESOME time that was) and there were a couple of trips I managed over 10 Raptor flights. Although there are alot who have tons more rides than me this season Im still very proud of my rides to date. It is all a matter of timing with CP. No offense but I do get bored with MF, I always find myself heading back to Raptor-I like alittle more substance with my rides....thank you ;)

Bah you people are so lucky. I get to go to CP once a season (well it'll be twice next season) and it's with a daycamp group. Mybae when I get older I'll move to Sandusky or something... heheh. :P
Well if were telling people our ride counts to date I guess I'm in:
2000 Raptor flights: 246    2000 MF rides: 106
2001 Raptor flights: 150    2001 MF rides: 19

This second hill is my favorite part of the ride. It is so Cool!

How do we do it?

1. Live to ride. Go every chance you get.
2. Learn the park, its people, and its ways. Go in May and for Bonus Weekends.
Use Park Cam.
3. Joe Cool ERT
4. Millennium Mania
5. Get lucky. Live close.
6. Don't be too fussy about what you ride.

Only three more to my hundredth lifetime visit, and four to go to my 600th Raptor ride.

Folks I know when the best times are to go to CP and when they have special events for maximum ride time...I am not a newcommer to CP by any streach of the imagination...

What I was asking behind this thread is "Where and How do you guys find time out of your busy lives to go as much as you do??" What is your trip planning secrets?? When ever I do plan a trip, they usually always get pooped on by something else thus causing me to cancel and reschedule.
