Ok, so I got this real good deal on eBay for a Cedar Point platinum pass which I also plan to use at KD. The only thing that concerns me is I show up, they scan the card, and see someone else's name or photo pop up on their computer. Will they let me in?
Platinum Pass on eBay? The only way that would work for you is if it is a blank 2013 Platinum Pass voucher that you fill out and turn in at Cedar Point to get your picture taken,since thats where it is issued! If its a plastic card, its only for that person. I would need to see it to know whats going on with the sale. Right now it doesn't sound right to me!
No they wont let you in, and you will probably get in trouble for attempting to enter with someone elses pass. Needless to say that the CP police will visit you at the entrance!

Thank you very much for your reply. I just worked it out with the seller and he asked for everyone's name/age, so he should be sending me the voucher by mail.
Also, it's for Kings Dominion... which means I can only authenticate it at Kings Dominion, right? Whick is ok for me because that's my "hometown" park.
Yes, at Kings Dominion.
What kind of deal did you get on it, if you dont mind me asking?

These are 2013 Cedar Fair Platinum Pass blank paper vouchers correct?
One on their website goes for $174. I hope this was legit! What was the reason for selling them?

Are you sure they are platinum passes? All I see that have been sold on eBay is Kings Dominion Gold passes. I find it hard to believe that anyone would sell platinum vouchers for $60 ea., the Gold vouchers that sold (4 of them) went for $70 ea. on eBay.
@JW I guess I'll find out, lol! Just speculation on my part but I think he might be a member of one of those reward programs and he sells tickets to KD/Busch Gardens to make cash money.
@tmilicia Yes, I saw two users selling KD gold passes. I contacted both of them to ask if they had platinum ones. Only one replied with the offer (this was before the bidding skyrocketed on the gold ones). And he sent me the invoice through paypal (eBay would have taken a 10%+ commission).
So, the item being sold is way under priced and he wanted to conduct the transaction separately. That wasn't enough red flags?
I hope for your sake this is legit, but it really doesn't seem like it.

Post when you get them to let us know what you received!

@JuggaLotus Yeah, against my better judgment I took him up on the offer. Usually, I don't go make deals behind eBay, but I did. Thankfully, my parents are both lawyers, lol.
@JW will do!
I'd be very, very careful. There are tons of fraudulent tickets sold on Ebay every year. This is the first time I've heard of passes being sold, but Jugga is right, there are red flags everywhere here. Only being told to take a hike is probably one of the better possible outcomes if you show up to the park with fraudulent passes.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
