How about those shoes?

This year will be my first year at CP, so I'm a total newbie...

I read that ride ops have to wear white tennis shoes. I was wondering if mine will do:

You see... they're not brandnew anymore, but I don't feel like buying new ones to be honest. Will they really make a big issue of shoes that are a little outworn, or isn't it that bad?

Those shoes look fine to me. My shoes are not brand new either and now that I have worn them a lot at CP, they are looking very outworn from our cars. They never have said anything about them.

Biggest mistake I made my first summer was getting brand new shoes just for work.

3 words : Waste of Money.

Between the various bodily fluids you'll be cleaning up, walking through giant puddles (Lake Commons, anyone?), and walking about the park in the rain... your shoes will be toast 3/4 of the way through the season anyway. The ones you have are perfectly fine... expect to get some new ones when your contract is up though. ;)

June 14th my process in date last year, it started pouring and the lot filled into a giant puddle. My brand new G Units were water logged. They lasted maybe a month. It was funny b/c everyone who noticed my shoes (guests mostly) would call out: "gggggg unit!"

I went through 2 pairs of shoes last summer. I still have the second pair - The pair I wore mostly when working Sky Ride. They squeek everytime I walk like I just walked through a puddle. Talk about annoying.

Those shoes should be fine, however.

Don't purchase the shoes at wardrobe, if they offer them still. My fellow crew members bought them and had to keep buying new pairs cause those shoes wore out fast (about every month)!

Raptorqueen's right, they DO wear out fast. Since I walk back and forth to check lap bars on Magnum, my wardrobe shoes wear out in a month and a half. I'm nearing the end of my 2nd pair :( and I know I'll have to shell out another $22 for more shoes.

The sad thing is that I HAVE to buy wardrobe shoes. It's insanely hard to find size 15 white shoes...
