You're right. The truth is, the ground around it has actually been eroding for the last 7 years. It was only for like the first 6 that it had been sinking. If you check, Magnum is actually about 6" taller from ground to crest than it was in 1989, so see its getting taller. If it were sinking it would be getting shorter.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!jugalotus. I mean Magnum has been around for almost 15 years. Stuff errodes. It has not beeen sssinking. If it was that would have cause stress on the ride and the track would bend and snap and the train would go whoosh right into lake eerie!

OK...I am a cedar point noob and have wanted to go there ever since I was tall enough to first ride a roller coaster. I am trying to learn as much as I can before I make my first trip there. Some one mentioned in this thread that they "reprofiled" magnum... Something about the banks? What exactly did they change? and was it for the worst? How could they take the bankings out? espically in the pretzel turn.

I heard something like this too. Something about the third hill causing pain to riders.

Can someone please explain this?

A little unrelated but I was a little disappointed that they added those trees around the final brakes after the last tunnel. I enjoyed watching the faces of the people as they came out of the last tunnel. Perhaps because I have personal attachment to the old way. (cheesy story coming) When I was small I was deathly afriad of the Magnum, but once I did it, the first thing I saw coming out of that tunnel was my mom below with the biggest "You did it" look on her face. Sniff...and now that's taken from me.....That was back in the day where trainloads of people clapped coming around that section to the station....
