Housing Television

Most of you know that a lot of channels have gone missing from working in the employee housing cable system. Does anyone know the story about what happened? I have heard a few different stories.

i don't think we'll ever get a correct version. I'm not hapy about it. Its football season with no espn. Thats like spaghetti with no meatballs

I'm pretty sure they just flat out cut the cable (not literally "cut" a physical cable, just stopped the service). Everyone in Commons was without cable sometime between Aug. 20-24.

Maybe CF is just saving a little money seeing the end of the season coming fast. Gotta pay that debt somehow! :P

Thats what I have been thinking too but what seems weird to me is that it happend the night/morning of the "CP 2007 Brownout from Hell" that caused the channels to not be right and because if you look at the channels we have; when do you ever get Disney on basic cable? Yes its a bit staticy but still its there. I think something went wrong with the cable in the complex instead but they really need to get this fixed or I am going home each week cause I am getting bored even though the free housing will rock

You would be surprised what you can pick up on basic. I've come close to getting a good signal for HBO a few times when I had basic at home before getting Dish.

I highly doubt that CF would cut cable to its' employees just to save a nickel. That has to be a moral killer...

In my day they saved money with the shoddy construction of the jail cells known as the "Commons Apartments"... Yikes...

It is a little weird not being able to check the Weather Channel when I get up in the morning. Other than that, I don't use the TV that often.

I have to say that working at CP pulled me away from TV for good. I'm going on 5 months of not watching TV other than maybe the news here and there. Now the internet is another story. I don't think I could go another season without a laptop.

We did not have cable in my day, but there was a TV in every commons apartment (jail cell). The sweeders had a TV in the lobby but the reception was terrible.

This has been dead for 2 months. Why bring it back?

our cable came back on dec 2 that rainy cold sunday night and we had it all day monday and then tues morn buckeye cable came by and cut it off, i hear from housing that its in the works to be turned back on soon or by next season, i will belive it when i see it.

I heard a completely different story about the whole cable situation, but you'll have to PM me if you want to hear it.

I heard that some big wig said "they don't spend that much time in their apartments anyhow because of how many hours we work them". Although it is a true statement, I don't think that is a good enough excuse to take away our cable. I guess it wasn't enough that never fixed any of our problems in our apartment but now we lose cable. Shucks!

Don't worry about it, cause that's not what happened.

Actually I won't name names but...I had brought it up to a vice president of a divison while at the cafeteria.I told him if he could possibly bring it up at there meeting cause not having any cable is bad to even catch up on anything and he said he would. So maybe there is change.
