There actually are more housing options than just Commons and Bayside.

Housing is generally split up between On-Point and Off-Point housing.

On-Point includes Golds, and Cedars. They're camp style housing, definitely not the nicest, but it is extremely convenient. Golds are all female, Cedars are all male.

Off-Point housing includes Bayside (700 & 800 Buildings), Common Apartments (900 - 1200 Buildings) and the Common Dorms (1300 - 1500). The 1300's are female, 1400's are male and 1500's are all female, except for the first floor on the new side. The biggest plus with the Common Dorms is that they have A/C.

As far as housing being terrible, it really is what you make of it. If you're a slob, never cleaning up after yourself, yes, it will be terrible. But if you're clean, neat, I personally don't think it's too bad. Plus, chances are you'll really only be there to sleep and shower.

Commons really aren't the best. They're a bit small, the top bunkbed may fall down if the previous person in there took it apart to make it a single bed, the floors are filthy, you may need good climbing skills to get to the top bed since they don't provide anything, and the walls are super thin so it may be slightly hard to sleep since some people also don't follow the "quiet hours" or the law and drink during the night time..not even 21.

The apartments however are certainly better. Theres more space for your belongings and space to move around in, they have a TV, kitchen, microwave, and sink provided (dorms do not provide a fridge or any of that). Only a couple negative things about the apartments are sharing with around 12 people instead of 3 (3 people per bedroom and there are 4 bedrooms). Lastly sometimes the others might leave the front door open so Always lock the bedroom if you're not around. I've gotten my iPhone stolen on my last week cuz people leave it open for the community sometimes. Others have gotten their playstations and social security stolen.

Well I hope I was able to help and I hope you enjoy the job there! Its a great park.

Housing can really be that bad. If you have a group of friends in a dorm it's not so bad, but you could never get me to stay in the apartments again. NO WAY. The odds of having a jerk as a roommate go up dramatically when there are so many of them.

Living in the commons apartments, and the bayside apartments were a nightmare. So much so that I said "screw this" and got my own apartment downtown rather than room there when I was at Castaway.

However my roommates from the dorm are lifelong friends. I only had one bad experience in the dorm and that was because we had a roommate who processed out early, and they assigned an *expletive deleted* to our room before we managed to reserve it for our other friend who was processing in a week later. But he only lasted 2 days because he brought drugs in our room and the second he went to his shift we called the CPPD and had them confiscate his stash, they tested him and he was fired on the spot.
