So how is the living situation in bayside? Why wouldn't people choose Common Dorms (for ac alone) over Bayside?
Also just how bad are the Cedar/Gold dorms? Is it worth the heat to be right there on the point? Thoughts?
Where has everyone lived (returning people) and give us noobs some thought in which facility to pick.
Bayside is probably the nicest of the living situations, but trying to get in there after the lot of people start processing in is near impossible. I've lived in the Common Dorms for the last three years during the season, and my first year spent a month living in the Common Apartments, which was miserable.
I personally wouldn't want to deal with Cedar/Golds, I don't think it'd be worth it. However, I know people who have lived there and loved it. So it really depends on the person.
I'd say go for common dorms, hands down. I loved coming home after being in the hot sun all day to a freezing cold room.

See that was my thinking... AC to me would be worth a smaller room ;)
Also in bayside can we throw in a window ac unit? or is that no go
Bayside you just get an air conditioner in the living room. I think that's all you're allowed, besides fans.

Golds typically opens at the end of may- early june I think.

Golds normally opens Memorial Day weekend, sometimes a bit earlier if Commons start to fill up. Golds doesn't have heat; that is why it opens later. But you can always move; you can stay at Commons until Golds opens up, then move to Golds. CP will move your stuff after hours. Golds is not that bad. The rooms are old and there is no AC, but you can get a small AC for under $100 at Walmart and have CP install it for you for a small fee, I think it was $35 last year. A few rooms have 4 beds, but the majority of the rooms have 2 beds. The nice thing about Golds is the convenience of being on-site, plus just 1 roommate = less drama.
Knowing that they will install a window AC unit in Cedar/Gold makes it more appealing to me being right there on the point. Is there parking for employees that live there?
When does housing usually fill up? I am not processing in until June 5th. Will there still be room in the Commons Dorm 1500s or 1300s or will I be forced to live in the Golds dorms?
