Housing and Other Questions

Does anyone have any pics? Is it one or two person room for one of the dorm buildings or hows that work? Does anyone have advice for someone going 2 work there this summer? What about working as a sweep position? hows the pay? whats it like 2 work there?

I don't have any room pics but, job net has room layouts.
Depending on the room and building, you can have 2-4 people in a room.

I beleve sweeps make $7.30 an hour same as rides.

I've been a ride host going on three years and I worked as a sweep for 1 weekend, be prepared to walk alot so get comfortable shoes and be prepared to put in alot of hours. early and late in the season you can be working Open to close aka O-C depending on when the park closes. Working at CP is really fun and an awsome expierience. The food is uhhh well if you have been to that park before that is what is but cheaper. If you are in the front of the park thce cafeteria has a decent selection. If you work in the back of the park, Stockade features very little selection. I hope I did not scare you, I knew going in what it was like and there was very little surprises. Good Luck This Season Have Fun .

Witches Wheel has a 54 inch height requirement, I don't care if your child rode Dragster, Magnum or, Millenium, they are not tall enough for this one!

I have some pictures of the commons dorms, which have 3-4 people per room. Inside (1 | 2 | 3) Locker ( 1 ).

what abt other dorms

hows the internet up there? do u ever get time to roam the park or outside of the park? wat are parties like? im worried abt not fititng , or the internet access cuz i do online college courses as well as getting a 2 person room w/ just me and my friend. anymore pics send them this way or add me on yahoo wildwitch09@yahoo.com.

the internet there are terrible. they work but they go slow a lot. my advice is if you have a laptop bring it, but do so at you own risk. if you live in commons dorms they have lockers that you will be able to lock it up.

depending on your hours and where you work, you usually will have plenty of time to be in the park. i know if you work rides, they usually work a lot of O-C (open to close). my hours were usually 9-5 and i was able to go in the park after work. and on you days off, you will always have plenty of time on those days.

you will always be able to fit in. you will meet lots of new ppl. now i don't know much about the parties cuz im not much of a party person, so i can't help you much on that 1 other than you'll fit in no matter what.

i hope this will help you out a bit for you questions.

Wildthang, you keep asking a lot of the same questions. Due to the fact that you had responded to what I had posted previously, you should know by now that the internet is not the greatest, you get 1 day off a week usually to do whatever you want, and yes, you can get a two person room once Golds opens, as that is where you've said that you wanted to live.

I would advise against trying to do online classes while working at CP. I tried it last year and ended up just giving up on the classes. The fact that the internet is so unreliable coupled with how much time you spend working makes it nearly impossible to devote any time to an online class. Throw in any attempt at all for a social life or time to explore the park, and it's even worse.

ok this might be a very random question but are the outlets in the commons dorms 2 pronged or 3 pronged...so I can know whether to get a power converter thingy for my 3 pronged plugs

They are 3 pronged, but I would still bring a power strip with a surge protector on it if you plan to plug in a few electronic devices. Just remember NO warm, cooking, or heating devices and don't go over board on what you plug in or the housing nazi's will have a fit. Oh and remember ever time the fire alarm goes off, security goes through every room to make sure everyone is out.

awesome. yeah just my computer is 3 pronged and I just wanted to make sure. I'm not really planning on bringing anything else electronic except for a phone charger and maybe blow dryer

^^ housing nazis? Nobody ever looked in the rooms or payed any attention to what was brought into them.

Same here. Unless you or your roommates are doing something incredibly stupid to draw attention to your room by the police or housing supervisors, they tend to leave you alone. I also never had anyone enter my room during fire alarms, the cops would just run down the hall and pound on everyone's door. Considering my roommates and I slept through a few fire alarms, I would think I'd know if anyone actually came into the room to check for people.

Hey... I was just wondering, for like the apartments, I know there are say 3 rooms but does everyone have access to all the rooms or just the people who live in that particular room?

Its been a couple years since I actually had to stay in housing but when I did in the 1400 building the cops did go room to room (entering the room) making sure everyone was out.

On another note housing also wouldnt do anything about the swarm of musqitos that completely covered the door to our room or the end of the hallway in the 1400 building, they said it wasnt there problem.

Sounds like it was time to take that matter into your own hands and make it their problem :)

Ask John, I called and made so many trips to the desk that I made the girl cry. Only then did she call her supervisor who had maintanence spray and vacuum them all up.

I would have gone and bought one of those insect bombs and set it off honestly. Or started burning citronella candles :)
