Housing and a couple other questions

Hello, my name is Katie. This is my first year working at cedar point and I'll be working in the merchandising department. I process in on Friday, May 4th and I was wondering what housing past employees prefered? I was debating on the commons dorms or Bayside apartments.

I already told my manager before he hired me that I needed time off for a wedding later in the summer. As I've read we get 6 days to take off. Does this mean I get six additional days off which are different from the time I already expressed I needed off before I was hired?

Thanks in advance!

As long as you have those days contracted off you will be fine.

GO IRISH!!

Hi katie!

My name is lizzy and this is my first year working at cedar point too. From what I have heard from alot of people is that Bayside is the best apartment complex, as long as you don't mind not having a/c. And I belive the wedding that you asked off for would be included in your six alloted days off.

it seems like it would be included. it's part of your contract with the company, from what i understand, to say which six days you'd like off when you arrive, so i'm thinking that's what your manager was referring to.

i have a question for anyone that'd like to answer, though:
is it possible to bring a bike? would it do me any good?

a bike would actually be a decent thing to bring this year as they've added a walking path to the park that you could ride your bike on. not sure about if there is anywhere to lock your bike up at, but it would be a nice way to exercise!

There is no set number of days that you can get off, if they add it to your contract then you will get it off. If it is not added to your contract then you are not guaranteed to get it off.

You will work 6 days a week with 1 day a week off. This is standard throughout the season but changes depending on department, hours park is open, guest levels, and who knows what else.

The bike path does NOT extend all the way to the park. The path only runs from Cleveland Road (Castaway Bay)to First Street (CP Housing). A bike can still be handy if you want to travel downtown or want to head to the mall. But you can't ride into the park.

As to housing that has been discussed ad-nauseum in these forums before so not going to re-hash it here.
