The room I was in last year was two bunk beds on one wall, 3 lockers, 2 dressers and a desk on the other. There was only about 5' between. It was a bit crampt when I was alone, let alone with 3 other roomates.
From my experince, the more roomates you have, the more drama, noise, partys, arguments and other fun goes on. Apartments have the most roomates.
The biggest problem to me is theft. TV's, stereos, computers, money and other valuables are targets. There are several ways to prevent it. Don't bring valuables into your room is the obvious answer. It can't get stolen out of your room if it isn't there.
Defacing is another option for TV's, computers and there expensive equipment. Using something sharp like a xacto knife or razor blade, or a hot iron like a solidering iron or wood burner put your name all over it. In a less noticeable place put address, phone number all or part of your ss# ect. You probably won't be able to sell it, but at least it's much less likely to get stolen.
I seen something about sonic detectors where it gives off a particular signal and a tracing device and guide you to the detector. Thats probably something you could glue on the inside of something to find it if stolen.
One thing I do with device I own is write down the model and serial numbers on every valuable that has them. I put a discription, brand, then model and serial numbers. They are either on a label or imprinted. Example: Wireless mouse, Medion, model: MD9470, serial: 02005163. It isn't that hard to do, just keep the list in a safe place and/or with you. This makes it much harder to sell.
My favorite is denial of benifit. I problem solving with electronics. One idea I came up with is for a computer that is cheap and easy to do. (I'm guessing about $10) On a computer power supply there are two wires that the connect to the motherboard. When they are shorted together, that turns on the power supply. When you press the power button, the motherboard shorts and latches the two wires untill you turn the computer off which the it disconencts the two wires. I am trying to modify the wiring in the power supply with a 37 pin plug on the back that uses a simular key. Two specific pins are used in the process. The wrong key will either do nothing or blow a sensitive fuse. If you short the fuse in attempt to get computer on, there will be a direct PS short and that will shut it off. Stick the right key in there it turns on and stays on untill it's either turned off or power is cut. I actually consiter doing this fun. :)

Eddy the retard is awesome.
I found living on point was easier so I could go and change after work and return to the park and play. Plus you could sleep in and know there was a time clock nearby! And NOT DEAL WITH CAUSEWAY TRAFFIC and being late to work. I also liked being able to go home on my 45 minute break and taking a quick nap.

Living on point is cheaper, that is why my attention was drawn to on point housing, staying off point was a bit more.
Females stay in Gold and males stay in Cedars.
As far as valuables go, if you live close enough to drive home on a day off, leave every thing valuable at home. After you move in, if nobody has a TV or whatever and you trust your roommates you can go get yours. If you live in the apartments though, chances are good there will be someone who has a TV, VCR, computer they let people use, etc. and there just isn't room for four of every appliance.

If you do live off point, remember, even if the bus to work is full or stuck in traffic or late or whatever, that is not valid as a reason for you being late! Just a note to consider.
