Housing

So, I got a call from the assistant director or whomever she was.. I forgot her name, but she was really nice. She said she didn't understand my question, and I told her that Bree said I couldn't have housing, because I was part-time, and how a couple of people have told me that you can get housing even if your part-time.. I explained how I was going to be part time until May 9th, and than full time until classes start back up, and than back to part time. Well, she than was like "don't worry, your fine, you have housing, don't let anyone tell you that you don't." She was soo nice about it!! I wish I caught her name, but I didn't. I asked her where I'd be living, and since nothing else is open right now, she said I'd be living in the apartments.. so where are those? what do they look like? what do I need??

thanks :)

There are probably a dozen threads describing housing..

The search feature is your friend ...

Rob do you know if it is true that we process into housing at the housing office on point for all housing.

I'm not in housing anymore so I'm not sure. (I turned local during the last part of last season)

I know last year it was at the Bayside guard shack but the year before that it was the housing office. (this is of course if you come in early before commons opens)

I'd just ask at HR because who knows this year.

In my experience, you process in at the housing office of the building you are living in. I know my first year I processed in at the on-point housing office when I was staying in Bayside...but every year since I just went to the place I was going to be staying to check in.

Megan, the woman you talked to didn't specify which apartments you'd have to stay in? I'm assuming Bayside, right at the end of the causeway. I know I liked living there...everyone has a different opinion. But I loved Bayside...it's hard to really explain. I can't predict whether or not you'll like it, but I hope so. A lot really has to do with how well you get on with your roommates...and if things don't click between you guys, you can always find a new apartment. But there are a lot of really cool people who work at Cedar Point, so chances are you will end up with some awesome roomies.

The apartments are pretty much the same...there's a livingroom area with a fold-out couch or two, coffetable, some chairs and a table...then there's a kitchenette with refridgerator, stove, sink, and counters. Then a hallway that goes to the bathroom and bedrooms. Not very large, but large enough. If you want to bring a TV you can...chances are that one of the roommates will bring one, but you never know.

Just try to think of it as...you're moving into an apartment. What would you need/want to have with you? And if you're going back and forth at first, then you can figure out as you go along what you'll need.

Thank you so much Cassie for the info :)
