Hey,this will be my first year at cedar point.I process on June 19th.Will I be able to stay in the gold dorms?
Most likely. Just remeber Cedars are the dorms for guys and Gold for Girls. Commons is seperated by floors or buildings I can't remember. and bayside is by rooms.
What are you going to be doing while you are here?

as convient as it is to live on point... my experience from visiting people living @ gold is that you may want to rethink living there and head over to commons...but just my opinion
The on-point dorms, well, they are old, dirty, and hotter than anything. Like, if you've ever been to summer camp, the kind of bunks they have there. The biggest problem is that it is just SO hot at night. I never lived on-point, just slept there sometimes, and even with a window fan it was extremely brutal. I don't know how people do it...and generally I like the heat. But it is about 10-15 degrees warmer inside the on-point dorms than it is outside. Commons isn't really too much of a step up...it is just nice to have air-conditioning. But then with that, you have 2 or 3 other people in your room who all may want a completely different temperature. Any way you look at it, three or four people (who are often complete strangers) living in a single tiny room is not fun. You could try out Gold and if it is too insufferable, then move.
i never spent a night in cold.. but yeah i thought of it as old and dirty. the dorms at common although small and cramped do have ac...and usually you and roomates can compromise... i doubt all of you will all be there at the same time very much. the apartments dont have ac in the bedrooms, but with a fan i didnt find it very hard to cool the room down... but then again i didnt move into the dorms till mid aug when the worst of the heat was over.
as for have multiple roomates at commons who may be complete strangers... its the best way to meet new people. i became great friends with one of my roomates.... and hated the other.... we tried to see very little of her... we worked it out pretty well

Very true. In '02 one of my roommates and I became great friends, after two days it was like we had known each other for years. My last season unfortunately, I was not so lucky. My first set of roommates were not bad, just annoying and not the kind of people I would choose to be around. They moved out and the next set was really insufferable. I'd be in bed at night and they would come in with some friends, turn the lights on, and talk loudly. If you can come to some kind of agreement with your roomies then it is fine, but if not then it is a pain in the butt. And I simply did not have the time nor energy to pack up and go somewhere else. Oh well.
