Hey everyone! Well, Sunday morning (3:16am, super early!) I get on my train and I'll be processing in Monday at 8am! (if anybody in Sandusky is an early riser and would like to grab an early breakfast, message me and I'll let you know where I'll be when I get in!)
I do have to pick my housing-I was told that I'd most likely be able to choose commons dorms or commons apartments, they said something else would probably be open to, but either way, I get to choose. I'm leaning to apartment style rather than dorms, but I was wondering if anybody had suggestions? What are the positives/negatives for some of the housing opportunities? I'll be there til November 1st, so I figured I'd like to make some type of informed decision!
I definitely recommend the dorms. They are 3 (sometimes 4) to a room with bunk beds on one side of the room and lockers, a desk or dresser, and TV on the other side of the room. Not very large at all, but they are air conditioned. There's a community bathroom on each floor, which while not always the greatest (bring shower sandals!) do at least get cleaned once a day.
The apartments are either 15 or 16 to an apartment, with 4 or 5 bedrooms and 1 or 2 single person bathrooms (it's been a while since I've been in one, so I don't remember all the details). There is a living room/kitchen area, and that area is the only part that is air conditioned. I've never lived in one, but have visited people in them. In my experience, they're usually dirty and have people you don't know passing in and out.
In my opinion, the best part about the dorms is just having AC and not having to deal with those bathrooms the apartments have. Plus with the lockers you can bring a lock along and keep your stuff secure.
Yeah-I did! Thanks :). I'm working as an admissions host for Soak City and Challenge Park before HalloWeekends-it's been fun so far! I was in an apartment first, but after one night moved into the dorms with a new friend I made...it's been a blast!
