Hours of operation

Im a ride op in challenge park on the go karts. I was wondering what my hours will be like.?will I work a lot? Will I have to work when it rains?

Challenge Park opens at 1 everyday. Your hours will depend on staffing, expect around 40ish a week. The tracks close down for rain, but you'll have to go out and squeegee once it stops until the track is dry enough for guests to race again.

So the earliest my work day will start is at 1 ?

They open at 1. The crew generally gets there 30-45 minutes before then. They're also open an hour past the park's closing time on just about every day (I think July 4th and Halloweekends are the exception.) Not sure if they still do pool opens, but your day would begin much earlier than 1 if you were scheduled for one of those.

We have to be at work by 12:15. We no longer do pool opens, but they might pull some people from Challenge Park to help out in Soak City when they're understaffed. Sometimes that will require you to go in a bit earlier.

Wow, all those years we had supervisors fighting to get challenge park out of doing pool opens, and all it took was making the whole place open 2 hours later in the day. :)

In 2000, my first year in Challenge Park, we opened at 10 and there were no pool opens, at least not at the go-karts. 2001 brought the birth of the pool open. If my memory serves me pool openers had to report to the beach rental at 8am.

No more pool opens.
