Hours and Benefits questions for past employees...

I'm going to be working Area 2, my job online says specifically "Power Tower".

Brian had told me that I'll most likely be moved around through out the summer. I'm completely fine with being bumped around, but how much might that be?

I'm looking to work a ton to make some bank this summer, what does an average schedule look like? Can you request more hours?

Also, what are the cool benefits that employees get? From discounts to admission for self and family/friends, fast passes, restaurants, stores in Sandusky, etc. I heard about night rides and other employee perks, what do those range from?

Lastly, I remember when Carley Rae Jepson came last year, I was in Myrtle Beach and I was actually really upset that I missed the concert. I saw the "Call Me Maybe" video you guys did. How often do you guys do silly/fun things like that?

Thank you in advance!

You have an amazing team leader at Power Tower! You'll love it!
As for moving around, it happens now and then. Everyone will be moved at some point or another. Generally your leadership tries to be fair and make sure it's not always the same person. And it's usually just a temporary move. During halloweekends people move around a whole lot more though. If you want to move around or pick up extra hours at other rides, then by all means! You would just have to talk to Brian. Power Tower has decent hours. An average ride host gets about 60-70 hours a week, but again if you want more, you can ask. More than likely it would have to be at a different ride for staffing reasons.
Perks- we get into all cedar fair parks for free, we get 4 complimentary tickets for our family, discounted merchandise on certain days, fun employee ride nights and trips and several discounts in Sandusky. There's too many to list though.
That Carly Rae video was a first (for my time anyway) but there's always fun things for employees to do!

https://www.facebook.com/groups/455851091146572/ if you have not already joined the Park Operations FaceBook page you can join there. And this is the point placement site http://pointplacements.clanteam.com/ which you have to be apart of the FB to have your name up there.

Cross training usually depends on staffing. If you are going to be there for Halloweekends is probably why you will get cross trained allot. Since staffing during Halloweekends shifts around allot.

An average schedule depends on the ride but on average you will see 50-60hrs per week working 6 days a week.

We get free admission to Cedar Point and any Cedar Fair park! As for our friends and family we are given 4 free tickets after working for 30 days. You would pick them up in HR when you want to get them. We do not get much discounts in the park. I know we get a employee discount every Tuesday in the Pagoda Gift Shop. But places around Cedar Point do offer discounts for employee's there is a list of these generally you can find this list in HR or I believe somewhere in housing they might of had them too. Its just a big lists of places and the discounts they offer. I know one I went to allot was Buffalo Wild Wings (Bdubs) which if I recall they offered a 10% discount when you showed your ID (or if you were in uniform they can tell haha)

Ride Nights are every Monday nights up until about mid/late august. The rides vary from most of the coasters and some non coasters. Last year we had Raptor, Millennium Force (2x), Top Thrill Dragster, Maverick/Mean Streak, maXair/Disaster Transport, Windseeker(was down mechanical so we had maXair instead), Blue Streak, Corkscrew/Power Tower, Magnum, etc... We defiantly are going to be having GateKeeper ride nights since that is now in the picture.

And as far as the silly stuff goes just whenever something comes up like that where they want us to be featured in it. Which by looking at their YT page is not much but things do pop up. I know some TV show came to film reactions on Maverick and Mean Streak and they had us sign up to be featured in it. We were in street clothes instead of our uniforms. I don't recall what show it was for.. But it was fun!

Sign me up for that!

Another perk; Enterprise car rental has a CP employee discount AND your employee ID is accepted if using a debit card. This is nice if you don't have a credit card.
