Hotel Breakers shifts

Hi Everyone.

I was just hired as a registration clerk at Hotel Breakers and I had a few questions regarding shift times. Does anyone know what the shift hours usually are? And how many hours on average a week one might get? Just wondering what to expect!

Thanks in advance!

The shifts at the hotel is basicly 7-3 or 3-11,
You typically wont work the over night shift as they have auditors that work them unless they need a need a clerk to fill in.
However you may have a mid shift. Hours change weekly some times daily.
You average 40-60 hours a week depending on how many clerks they hired this season as well as if they are sold out or not. Hotel breakers has over 500 rooms mostly with guests staying 1-2 nights so guest turn over is high so they usually have a lot of clerk on at once.
Be prepared it gets VERY hot behind the desk as there is no A/C in the lobby of hotel breakers

If you want good housing ask katie ( if shes the one that hired you) about living in hotel breakers and see if there is still room left

so if you work for hotel breakers you can live in the hotel?

Yes..you can live in the Rotunda. Small rooms- but most have a gorgeous view of the Lake. Just beware of the ghost...oops, did I say that? Ask about the "sightings".

As far as the front desk- the shifts are typically 7a-3p and 3p-11p, but they most often run over...so don't expect to punch out "right at" the scheduled time. Personally I MUCH prefer the morning shifts 100%,

I worked the Breakers front desk, and it was constantly traffic-y and manic. If I was scheduled 'til 3pm, it may be 4:30pm by the time I left- honestly.

It's a great job and lots of fun, but you have to be 'on your toes' at all times- and yes, it's very hot...no air conditioning.

There is shifts 7-3 however, now there is a lot of shifts more mid day 10-6 etc, as at 7am not many people are up and awake so they dont need clerks that that time just during check in and check out etc. During the busier season they have shifts that go from like 4-12 or 5p-1a to help out the auditors.

In the hotel there is another place to live besides the Rotunda, There is a hall way which used to be guest rooms that is now for guest accommodation staff and some wait staff/supervisors of tgif, but it fills fast bc it is so nice and easy to get to work
. .
These rooms are the best housing cedar point has for the everyday worker, pretty good space, private bathroom, cable, great view of the coasters.

The rotunda has rooms to however they are smaller and are community bathrooms but u only share a room with one person some people even had single rooms.

Dont ask housing about the hotel because they will say it doesnt exist, ask your supervisor that hired you

However, if you live in the hotel its a little different then the other housing, there is guest rooms and guests around you at all times, and if they get a complaint u are kicked out on the spot, because guests pay hundreds of dollars for their room, so you cant have partys etc in your room. and security walks down the employee hallways all the time. 1-2 an hr at least
